History:
The Ranger clan was formed hundred of years ago by a king of a long gone and ancient nation. They were formed originally by that king as a special operations force, that would watch the kingdom and ensure the safety of all its residents. They would be watchful of neighboring countries as well as of suspicious characters. The Rangers, from the beginning trained to develop considerable skill in stealth, infiltration, archery, and throwing knives. This would eventually lead to the creation of several skills and jutsu that the Ranger clan would be extremely secretive about. At start, they used only a bow and Throwing knives.

The clan eventually evolved and became highly selective, rangers being chosen in secret from areas across the world. Every Ranger would, at some point take an apprentice to replace himself or another ranger. The Apprenticeship process is highly personal for rangers. It is a very difficult process where apprentice rangers are driven through difficult training exercises where they develop exceptionally advanced skill in archery and throwing knives, and especially in stealth and infiltration. The Rangers normally chose individuals who showed such skills from a young age. During apprenticeship, an apprentice becomes a full fledged apprentice by completing a series of tests. Afterwards, they are granted a bronze oakleaf necklace as a symbol of their accomplishment. Upon going from apprentice ranger to full Ranger, a Silver oakleaf necklace. The Gold Oakleaf necklace is achieved when a ranger retires from old age or dies honorably.

During the initial years, the Rangers served only the one kage, but overtime they separated themselves to be an independent force. At present, the Rangers are still independent, and dedicate Rangers to most villages, or simply as patrollers of entire countries.

Apprentices of the Clan start out with no necklace.
Upon passing the first test, they're formally accepted into the clan, and given a bronze oakleaf necklace.
Upon graduation to full Ranger, they're given a silver oakleaf necklace.
Retirement grants them a gold oakleaf necklace.

Requirements: Must be asked to join, not the other way around. This is not a bloodline based clan, but a recruited one.

Description: This technique is one of stealth. Using the appropriately colored Ranger's Cloak, the user of this technique will move their bodies in tune with the light and background movements. This effectively hides them from nearly anyone that isn't looking for them. Using this technique means to use ones surroundings as a physical entity to combine with. The user becomes the shadow, and the wind, or leaves. Using this technique takes extreme skill, and is remarkably difficult to perform. However, it is C rank for difficulty, it does not consume any chakra.

Description: A more advanced version of the Background Meld technique, this version is much more effective, both because it is used by more trained men, and because it uses a very small amount of chakra (D ranked) to add a slight blur to the cloak and the user, making them blend even further in with their surroundings.

Clan Traits: Members of this clan tend to be smaller in stature, and have a particular set of quirks and innate abilities.
