On behalf of the staff and all the members here,

Welcome to Shinobi Reality!

Our top priority is to make sure you have fun in a creative Naruto environment.

At Shinobi Reality you can develop your own custom ninja and grow with it in as well. We simply ask that you follow a few easy rules and guidelines. These are set to help make the role-playing environment here fair for everyone.

It should also be noted that the rules are subject to change as the site grows; so keep a look out for the [Announcements] the staff will make regarding the rules. Updates on the forum are posted there as well.

General Rules

Fun. Have it. Lots of it. This is first and foremost!
Respect. Simply put, we should all respect each other on this board. Respect the RPer's and the staff. Stay calm. Not everyone will see eye to eye on every single matter. Don't post just to be rude to another player and post rude topics about someone else just for the heck of it. There will be absolutely no derogatory remarks based on anyone's race, gender, or sexual orientation directed at any person here.
Bashing. If you don't like the way a player RPs or you just don't like their attitude you have every right to not want to RP with them. This doesn't mean you can go around and spread your hate to other people and bash the name of the RPer just because you don't like them. If you have a problem with a person on the forum bring it to the attention of the staff team and we will sort it out in a peaceful manner. Don't bash people for no reason.
The Staff. If the Staff tells you to do something oblige. We won't steer you wrong. We know that listening to other people that might be older or younger than you can be upsetting. You have to remember that The Staff works for you. Without you The Staff has no job. The Staff members value you and were picked because we know they will treat you with the utmost respect.
Private Information. We're all people who share a common interest in Naruto or RPing itself, so it's OK to have friends on the board and we encourage you to make as many friends and great memories here as possible. However, do not indulge private information about yourself on the forum publicly. Don't give out information like phone numbers publicly on the form. We can't control what happens to you outside of the forum if you give out your information online.
Report It and Ignore It. If you see a post that could possibly start a problem or an argument on the site, report it and do not respond to it. Do not even tell the poster that you are going to report it, just report it and ignore it. If a post is intended to cause problems report it. If you post in a problematic topic there's a chance you will end up in trouble as well.
No Chat Speak. Simple. W3 D0n7 w4nT u 2 p05t l!k3 th!5! It's just annoying and a waste of time. It took me about three minutes just to write like that. If you have the time to post like than then take that time to post properly.
No Argument/Fighting. We're not saying you can't have a debate type arguments or character fighting but we do not want yelling and insults to be thrown across the board. We have been to plenty of forums where even the admin start fights with certain members just because they don't like him. The Staff team here will not start a fight with anyone and neither should you. If a person wants to start an online yelling match we will deal with it. This rule is serious. We don't want problems to erupt by people fighting with each other. If you have an issue you want to bring up then message The Staff team privately.
No Flaming/Flame Baiting. Flaming is attacking someone. Flame Baiting is making statements that try to get them to respond back at you with derogatory statements. Both are punished equally. If you don't get into fights, don't worry about this.
Multiple Accounts. No. Create one account. Don't try to get around this either because The Staff team will be watching. You might think you can get away with it but you won't. If you're caught making another account it'll be banned and your current one will be punished. If you make an account to get around a ban you'll be permanently banned.
Signatures and Avatars.We like having signatures and avatars to show off our personality but they need to be limited. They don't need to be over 550X250.
PG-13. Please keep all OOC information PG-13. This means no porn, hentai, or graphic language. However, this will be a warning to all members, Naruto is not a PG-13 world. Even Naruto can't keep his cool and sometimes uses coarse swear words. Due to the subjectiveness of censorship, these words will not be censored if a player uses them IC (in RP). Sections that are OOC like the Discussion Forum will be protected. If you are not mature to handle coarse language in RP then please reconsider other Naruto RPGs. Language or the RP's itself will not be censored because we want the players to be expressive. This doesn't mean you post sexual topics of vivid display on the board. Explicit and over the top posting such as sex between two characters will not be allowed. Simply put, it's OK to use coarse language if that's your character but don't abuse it. If you like another character and are RPing an intimate scene "turn the lights off."

As well as other RP sites, there are a set of rules which we all must abide by to make RPing the best for everyone. To give you the best experience here at Shinobi Reality, we have devised a list of easy rules which will make RPing here great. These rules will ensure that everyone has a fair chance at RPing and is treated equally. From genin to Kage, everyone is required to follow these rules to make Shinobi Reality the most realistic place for Naruto Rping!

Role-Play Rules

Post Size. Sometimes you can't burst out a 800 word post every time. The situation in topics changes frequently and it's hard to keep a set amount of words. However, in no circumstance are you allowed to post a one liner. Don't even try to think up of an excuse. The minimum requirement is at least 150 words. Please do not post by the minimums all the time unless you have never RPed before, and even then you can't post with minimums that often. Also, it'd be wise to check on the GP System to find more information about post size and it's limitations.
English. English is the main language of Shinobi Reality so we would appreciate it if everyone could use proper English. This includes proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. We realize not even native English speakers are proficient in English, so we're just asking if you try your best. If you really have a hard time with grammar, spelling and punctuation, open up Word before posting and copy/paste your post. Word will attempt to fix all grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. If you do not speak English well or it isn't your native language then try your best. We will work with you.
Formats. Do not post in any weird formats or odd colors that make it impossible to read your post. Usually you can use color or bolds and italics to format your post normally, but to do not be excessive. Use a few formats to make your post easy and visually pleasing to read.
God-Modding. Do not god-mod. You cannot be all powerful. Your character will have weaknesses and limitations that prevent it from doing certain things. A counter exists to near everything in the Naruto world, and no one can be a perfect shinobi. Even Pain who was one of the strongest shinobi in the entire manga, still had weaknesses. His body was weak and frail, and he lacked mobility. If you're caught god modding you will be punished.
Meta-Gaming. Do not meta game. Simply put, meta gaming is knowing something that your character doesn't know. At Shinobi Reality, we allow you to have any number of topics but this doesn't mean you can meta-game. If you started a topic on Thursday and then a new one on Friday, until the Thursday topic is complete your character as of Friday will not know anything your character learned on Thursday. This also relates to character history or famous characters. You do not know their life story or all of their jutsu etc, unless an event allows you to know them. You're not allowed to just pick up a textbook and learn everything about a person.
Auto-Hitting. This falls under the same basic rule of of god modding. Say you do an attack and your character doesn't move for their post and you continue your attack. That doesn't mean your jutsu will necessarily hit. For instance, everyone thought Rock Lee was fast enough to dodge Gaara's sand after he moved the weights. After using that much speed for his technique he couldn't move and could only block his sand for a while. Just because your opponent does a certain action that you don't think will work doesn't mean you can auto-hit them. The only exception to auto-hitting is Kage Levels vs Genin, and even then it's usually for sparring or comedic like battles. Sometimes characters will ask you if it's OK to auto-hit your character. For instance a Sakura type character might want to god-mod a Naruto type character so she can hit him. Usually god-modding in that sense is done for comedy and poses no serious battle threats. Sakura might punch Naruto in one page, but the bruise is gone on the next.
Power-Playing. If you're a really good RPer or fighter you really won't do this. You won't power-play on another character. Power-playing is essentially like god modding. People that power-play make their attacks seem like they are extremely powerful and can't be dodged or blocked by their opponent. This is not allowed and will get you into serious trouble. If you have a technique and you use it on a level that it shouldn't be used on and try to power-play yourself into winning a battle or mission you will be punished.
The Naruto World. This is a Naruto text-based RPG. This is not a Bleach, or One Piece or super-futuristic world RPG. It's OK to bring some elements of other RPs into a storyline, but keep it Naruto. For instance, Claymore features a story based around a mafia organization. Creating a mafia and calling them the "Vongola" family will be allowed. However, having a KKG from a Devils Fruit wouldn't be. It's Shinobi Reality for a reason, so lets keep it about the Naruto world. This doesn't mean you can't get ideas from other Manga and bring them here. For example, the concept behind Bleach's Kido #21 Red Smoke Escape could be allowed but something like Kido #61 Six Rods Prison of Light would not. Just ask your self, "Could this be done in a Naruto setting?

Smiles/Emotes

One simple rule to remember about these: Don't overuse them. If you begin to overuse them you'll be warned and if the problem continues you may be banned for the hour or the day.

Links

We don't mind you giving out links on the chatbox, but again these must be not conflict with the site rules. (I.e. No porn links, virus infected links, etc.) And voiding this rule can lead to a ban. Nor are you to fill the chatbox with links either. That too is pointless.

Peers & Staff

Respect

Respect yourself, your peers, and the staff. There may be times when someone posts something and you can't help but think 'What the heck?', but don't be mean and call them an idiot outright. No one knows everything, and no one ever will. And there will be times when you don't agree with everyone else, but that doesn't mean you should yell and curse at them either. Stay calm, get away from the site for awhile, come back later when you're not as angry, work it out.

Race, Religion, & Gender

Do not use degrading racial, religiously intolerant, extreme sexist words or images outside of Role Plays as everyone here comes from different places in the world and we all have different backgrounds and beliefs. Doing so can lead to an immediate ban without warning.

Flaming & Provocation

You are not to 'flame' others. (Flaming refers to pointless points saying things along the lines of 'that's stupid, you're an idiot, that doesn't make sense, etc. or constantly telling someone that what they're doing is wrong or giving negative comments excessively.) In all negative comments you must be able to explain why you think said thought or idea is wrong or 'pointless' in a way that does not provoke others into arguing with you/causing unnecessary problems.

Rating

PG-13

Generally, overall the chatbox is rated PG-13. That means that all posts must be at or below a PG-13 level. This applies to word descriptions, images, etc. Under no circumstances are you to disregard this rule. So what about swear words? You can swear occasionally, but not excessively. (Cursing two or three times a line would be okay, but to do so ten or twenty times will be considered excessive.)
