OOC: You'll have to excuse me if my Role Playing is a tad rusty...

IC: Before anyone else was awake, a homeless old man patrolled the streets. He carried a turtle shell on his back and a walking stick in his hand. “Hopefully I get me some supper today.” He murmured to himself. It was a foggy day in Konoha, but the old man didn’t have much choice when he could go outside. “Err…fog is always good for fishing.” Being homeless made Ebisu accustomed to talking to himself, or perhaps it was his age, or a mix of both!

Dawn finally broke and the old man was overjoyed at the warmth it brought. “I’m too old for cold weather…” As he walked a stray cat ran up to him. It was black with white paws and a white spot on its eye. The cat seemed happy to see Ebisu. However, Ebisu soon took a kung fu pose and yelled at the cat.

“Get back you filthy vermin! For my years have brought time to practice Kung Fu. Fear the Mastaaaaa!”

Spoiler:

The old man had dementia or something, because he never had any martial arts experience. He also was terribly old and his muscles couldn’t keep the pose for very long. So then he fell over on his back and groaned.

The cat tilted his head and then jumped on Ebisu’s stomach. The old man looked up and paused, soon after flailing his arms and legs. “AH, YOU MONGREL! HOW DARE YOU TOUCH THE MASTER’S STOMACH!” The cat looked at him again and jumped away, leaving the area. He continued flailing even after the cat was long gone. Finally he tired himself out and fell asleep.

Awaking thirty minutes later…

It was about six in the morning and an elderly man slowly made his way over to a river. As he walked, his entire body shook, struggling to keep a steady pace. Going slower than a crawling infant, he finally reached the water at 6:20. “Hee hee!” he squealed as he looked at the water. “The river looks fine! So clear and with shiny rocks!” He hadn’t realized that he was not in a park and in fact at a city center. Also what he was looking at was actually a wishing fountain filled with coins. Regardless, he took off his turtle shell. The shell was used like a backpack and carried money, a fishing rod, and a pipe.

A couple people, on their way to work, passed the old man and chuckled. “Look there, old man Ebisu is fishing at the wishing fountain.”

Fortunately, Ebisu could not hear the banter and carried on with his task. First he reached for his pipe and then lit it with a match. He then grabbed with fishing rod and fastened the line and shaft together. Lastly he took off his shoes and dipped them in the water; then cast his line into the water. The old man waited patiently for a fish to bite.

Fishing at Wishing Fountains Empty
PostSubject: Re: Fishing at Wishing Fountains   Fishing at Wishing Fountains EmptyThu Jun 09, 2011 3:14 pm

Eiji found himself having the dream of becomming a tyrant. It was one of his worst fears. The idea was one of his biggest fears because he could actually see himself turning into one. His dream of becomming the savior of the world would eventually lead him down a path where he would have to make a choice. That choice determines if he will become the savior by doing what's right or find himeself thinking and believing that he is the only one who can save the world so he must obtain all the power that he can. It was a dark and sad fact but it was a fact none the less. The more Eiji thought about it the more he became afraid of turning into a tyrant that everyone feared instead of respected and cheered for.

This was the eighth straight night in a row that Eiji awoke early from his slumber. He reached his hand out to see the time and it was only four twenty seven a.m. Eiji put the clock back on the night stand and sat up on his bed. The fog outside only symbolized the turmoil that would eventually arrive in Eiji's life. He placed his face in his hands and took a deep breath in and released it. "Another night huh? Am I truly destined to become this.....this....MONSTER that I see myself as in my dreams? I hope not. I need to get away. I need a day away from missions, training and the family." Eiji's family wasn't really a problem it's just that he needed to be alone to think about what choices lye ahead for him. How soon would he have to make a choice that determines his path? He could be making a choice everyday. This was all too much for him to take in at once. Eiji stood up and streched out his arms and legs. Then he made his way over to the shower.

There was one plus side to being awake at four thirty in the morning the shower was open and the hot water was still hot. Eiji turned on the hot water and looked at his self in the mirror for a few seconds. There were two other reflections in the mirror. The corrupt Eiji who only wants to prevent a threat that he himself caused and the pure of heart Eiji that found his own way to become the savior of the world. Both of them could be possible outcomes for Eiji. He splashed some hot water on his face from the shower before entering it. The hot water felt nice. It waseven more relaxing than Eiji thought. His little sister and brother were sleep and not running around the house or running the water for no reason. His parents were sleep and not yelling at his younger siblings and his older sister was off on a mission. This was one of the most relaxing mornings Eiji has had in a long time. He could hope that the day would become more relaxing.

After about thirty-five minutes exactly Eiji exited the shower and wraped a towel around his waist. Then he brushed his teeth for one minute and ten seconds. Then he brushed his snow white hair. Eiji was feeling better than he was before. When he got back to his room he looked at the alarm clock and it was only five o five am. Surely no one in Konoha was up this early unless it was important. Eiji dried off completly and put on his boxers first then his pants. It was rare that Eiji wore a shirt but today it was foggy outside and there's no telling what could be hiding in the fog. So he grabbed a black shirt that had a picture of a lady wearing nothing but some armor to cover up her breast and private areas. She was fighting a two headed dragon and a white tiger armed with only a small pocket knife. On the back in big bold red letters it read "Nothing is impossible." That's how Eiji was feeling today so put it on along with his sleevless jacket and his boots.

Eiji wrote a letter and left it on the refridgerator. It read "Mom dad i'm going to walk around Konoha. I won't tire myself out before I get back so I can spen time with the family. I'll be back before dinner." His parents were concern with his constant training and wanted him to relax sometimes. This was going to ease their minds. Even though he didn't lie he didn't really say the truth either. He was going to clear his mind and hopefully find some answers to the questions that continued to plague him. Eiji slowly and quietly made his way out of the door. By now it was around five thirty and the streets of Konoha were empty. Sure there were guards watching but outside of that on one. As he continued to walk Eiji reached for his swords and found nothing. He couldn't believe that he left his weapons. He was so caught up in his own thoughts that he completely forgot ot get them. He rushed back to his house and quietly opened the door. He was going to have to sneak in and out before anyone woke up.

Quickly and quietly he made his way upstairs to his room and grabbed his swords Caution and Danger. They were his favorite pair of swords. Cinsidering his other swords were used for pratice. Eiji kissed both of his swords and made his way back downstairs and left again. This time he made sure that he had everything he needed. Eiji killed a few minutes running back to his house and leaving again. The time now was six ten a.m. His first thoughts was to go to the park but that wouldn't allow him to think. After wandering around for about twenty minutes he came across the wishing fountain. He smirked and shook his head. "I could really use a wish right now." Almost as if he was quoting a song. Just as he was reaching into his pocket to grab a coin he saw an old man fishing in the wishing fountain. The sight was so unbelieveable that Eiji had to wipe his eyes and look again. As sure as the sky was blue there was an old man fishing in the wishing fountain.

"HEY OLD MAN!" Eiji yelled to get his attention. "What the hell are you doing? You do realize that this is not a lake right?" Maybe the old man was senile. Or maybe he was deaf. Whatever it was EIji decided to get closer and speak to the old man again. "Hey old dude what are you doing here? For that matter what the hell are you doing in Konoha? You look like you should be running a shop for adult magizines." Eiji looked at the old man then at the fountain. Maybe making awish wouldn't be so bad. Plus the old guy couldn't provide that much trouble. Just as he was about the throw a coin in he heard the laughter of several people who were making fun of the old man. Some shook their head others simply laughed. Eiji walked over to the fountain and sat on it with his feet in the water not to far away from the old man. "People can be so rude and disrespectful sometimes." EIji wasn't sure if the old man heard him or not but he felt he had to say it. After that he sat quiet waiting to see if the old man heard anything he said.

PostSubject: Re: Fishing at Wishing Fountains   Fishing at Wishing Fountains EmptyFri Jun 10, 2011 11:52 pm

Even with the people laughing and the stranger yelling at him, he paid them no mind. He didn’t ignore them, but was too old to hear anything. When the stranger got closer, he again didn’t lose focus. When Ebisu was fishing, he was almost oblivious to the world. Grenades and air horns could go off and Ebisu wouldn’t budge. Both his eyes were locked onto the surface of the water. His only movements were when he puffed his pipe. As the stranger moved closer and sat down, he saw a ripple in the water. He raised his eyebrows and then looked intensely. The stranger spoke once more, but Ebisu paid it no mind. The old man didn’t even look at him, not even once…

A couple moments past and all of a sudden, the sound of water crashing into his silent focus freaked Ebisu out. It was time that the water fountain turned on. He yelled and began flailing his arms and legs. This caused him to lose his balance. Through Ebisu’s eyes the water began to move away from him and he reached out trying to grab a hold of anything. In actuality, he was falling over and onto the concrete. “Oof!” he said once on the floor. Most of the time, he had his turtle shell on to break his fall, but he took it off to fish, so this time it was painful. Being old has its ups and down, but in this scenario, it caused the fall to be more painful. His spine spiked with pain, causing him to arch his back.

As he wallowed in anguish, he finally saw the stranger that sat next to him which further scared him. “How dare you creep up on the elderly! This is your entire fault so help this old man up!” In his anger, he blamed someone else when it was clearly he was just too old to be outside.

PostSubject: Re: Fishing at Wishing Fountains   Fishing at Wishing Fountains EmptyWed Jun 15, 2011 2:29 pm

One thing was painfully obvious the old man was tunning out the world or he was deaf. He was old so being deaf wasn't too far out the way. Eiji figured he'd sit back and give the old man sometime to his self. Eiji looked down at his shirt. Then at the water in the fountain. There were plenty of money in the fountain. The thought of taking them for his self made Eiji feel uneasy. The idea that he could even think of something like made Eiji feel uneasy. Money wasn't really a problem but greed was sin that lie in everyone. It's all a matter of how much one person can fight it. Eiji reached his hand in the water but quickly pulled it away. He grabbed it with his left hand and looked down at his hand.

Eiji looked at the time and it was about time to turn on the water in the fountain. Eiji stood up and jumped down on the ground. The old man seemed a little freaked out by the fountain being turned on. Eiji couldn't help but laugh a little. The old man was so out of it that it was almost too funny to laugh at. The way he was flailing on the ground only made Eiji laugh a little more. Of course he wasn't laughing at the old man he was simply laughing at his antics. If he was being serious then Eiji would help him and apologize for his actions. If he was'nt then Eiji would laugh. It was bad ebough that Eiji showed little respect for his elders. It wasn't that he was rude or disrespectful but he figured he'd earn respect versus him trying to suck up and gain instant respect that can be lost just as fast as it was gained. That was just Eiji's way of thinking. Some people call it wrong others call it stupid but that was Eiji's way of thinking and to him that's all that mattered.

It seemed that the old man had finally acknowledged him. Not in the way that Eiji wanted but he was finally ackowledged none the less. The old man seemed angry. Agianst his better judgment he helped the old man up. Eiji's first instinct was to leave the old man for blaming his misfourtune on him. It wasn't his fault that he fell but Eiji remembered that he is an old man so maybe he needed the help and was to stubborn to ask. Either way Eiji figured he'd help the old man up. On the plus side atleast now he had his attention now. "Hey old dude what are you doing out here? Why are you fishing in a wishing well man?" If the old man was senile then he probably wouldn't remember doing it. If he wasn't then maybe he was lost or something. No matter what this seemed like it was going to be Eiji's good deed for the day.

PostSubject: Re: Fishing at Wishing Fountains   Fishing at Wishing Fountains EmptyMon Jun 20, 2011 4:43 am

Ebisu firmly grasped the stranger’s hand and as he was pulled up, a sharp pain struck his spine. It was so sharp that it caused him to arch his back in agony and pressing against it with his left palm. “Oh lordly… These days sure have numbered me.” As he spoke, his feet finally tapped firmly against the floor. Afterwards, he let go of the stranger and then focused his attention on his back, placing both palms onto his lower back. There was a loud crack and the old man was paralyzed for a brief moment. He then let out a sharp squeal and then the pain was over.

The old man looked back towards the stranger and said, “Thank you child. An old man such as myself…” He took a quick pose as if he was proud about being old. His hands were at his hips, standing strong and virtuous. “…might not stand up again after a fall like that.” His voice quivered; weak from its many years of service. Ebisu started to make his way towards his turtle shell and patted the stranger on the shoulder.

Words were spoken to the elder man and he replied, “I live out here and this is a public park. I am allowed to fish here if I so please!” It had a slightly harsh tone, almost as if he was offended. It could’ve been because he was old or perhaps because he’s had to fight off people telling him what to do for so long that he automatically snapped like that now.
