They are defined as birds that primarily hunt vertebrates, including other birds. Their talons and beaks tend to be relatively large, powerful and adapted for tearing and/or piercing flesh. In most cases, the females are considerably larger than the males. The term "raptor" is derived from the Latin word rapere (meaning to seize or take by force) and may refer informally to all birds of prey, or specifically to the diurnal group. Because of their predatory lifestyle, often at the top of the food chain, they face distinct conservation concerns.
Tapered Wings / Flight: Adult falcons have thin tapered wings, which enable them to fly at high speed and to change direction rapidly. Fledgling falcons, in their first year of flying, have longer flight feathers which makes their configuration more like that of a general-purpose bird such as a broadwing. This makes it easier to fly while learning the exceptional skills required to be effective hunters as adults.
Speed: Peregrine Falcons have been recorded diving at speeds of 200 miles per hour (320 km/h), making them the fastest-moving creatures on Earth.
Excellent Vision: As is the case with many birds of prey, falcons have exceptional powers of vision; one species has a visual acuity of 2.6 times that of a normal human.
Spying: Due to the fact they're falcons the can combine their ability to fly and their excellent vision to fly above high altitudes and spy over vast areas of land.
No Handsigns: Due to not possessing hands these summonings have been taught how to utilize their chakra in a manner that they can still perform jutsu without hand signs. The closest they sometimes manage to get to making handsigns is that they draw their front legs together to focus.

Description: Kawarimi no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themself with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack.

When one needs to substitute or is going to substitute, one reaches outwards with their chakra and attaches it to a nearby object and then forces the two bodies of mass to switch places simultaneously. This leaves the user in the place of where the object as and the object where the person was. However, the user needs to know the exact location of the object in question and the object must be of proportionate mass in accordance to the user’s own mass. Therefore, one can not substitute with items such as kunais or insects. Additionally, one is confined to the environment and space they are in even if they know the exact location of an object. Because of this, one can only substitute with objects in the same relative area and room as they are in, meaning that one can not substitute in and out of buildings/cities/rooms/walls/etc. because one is unable to expel their chakra outwards past physical objects such as walls and a blockade of people. Description: Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will have any jutsu available (theoretically) because they will be able to focus their chakra as needed

Description: Scouter is an American Kestrel whom is typically just used for spying. He was named Scouter due the simple fact that he enjoys scouting out prey, or targets. Kestrels are known to be good for hovering so he can stay in one spot while using his excellent vision to see all around for long durations of time - up to ten posts if he wished. Another use is that he can travel long distances and is thus used for communication purposes. Typically he is pre-summoned and it is not uncommon for him to be lurking around the communication base for birds in Konoha. Mostly because enjoys eating up all their bird seed. Some might find it odd for a kestrel to be with the falcon summoning contract but kestrels are actually falcons and all are birds of prey. Overall, scouter isn't normally used in fights unless he must dive bomb a for whom is threatening his master. He is picked on a lot by the other birds due to his small size but it is this that makes him unique and able to hide in the sky easily. He is rather kind and would be a "gentleman" if he were a human. Jutsu: None

Description: Takahiro is one of the top peregrine falcon's in the bunch. He can be used as an efficient spy much like Scouter and utilizes a weaker ability that the ex and actual boss summonings possess. He has been taught under Raiden and is normally used by Shikatsu due to Takahiro's obedient nature. In truth, Takahiro despises Shikatsu but listens anyway. He hopes to one day have Raiden reclaim his once powerful glory due to the fact all the birds and turning towards the light. Takahiro is one of the few birds left, aside from Scouter (whom he is close too because Scouter is his ex-student), that actually stays true to himself. He is a representation of Raiden and the falcon's old valiant and noble nature. Of course he still knows how to fight and obeys though. Abilities wise he can fly at a speed of up to 200mph like most peregrine falcons and has excellent eye sight like other birds as well. He has been put through various elements for his training exercises and has flown greater altitudes than most falcons can handle. He is a healthy bird who is considered wise. He has taught many of the other birds that Raiden hasn't but when Shikatsu came to power he only really communicates with his lover, his chicks, and Scouter. Jutsu: - Spoiler:

Description: Utilizing this jutsu the bird finds itself surrounded by static electricity - almost like a sort of lightning armour. The bird will literally glow like a bright light which gives this jutsu the name "enlightenment". The bird will then dive bomb their target from its blind spot and electrocute them as it flies by or the bird can simply fly within five meters, flap it's wings, and send down all the electricity onto the target like a lightning bolt. If struck by this bolt this electricity the opponent will be stunned for one full turn.

Description: A over sized bird without much of a mind of his own. It's not that he is stupid it's just that he is trained to electrocute foes no matter what and always use electricity. He obeys his master rather easily and it's not much of fight to control him. This is mostly because he has had a lot of his memory wiped due to Shikatsu and there is a seal to prevent much thought in his mind. Raiden used to be the once glorious kind of falcons and lightning summonings but after losing a long fight to Shikatsu - he was demoted to second best and casted into a cage. There, he went mentally insane. Due to his weakened mind and Shikatsu's manipulation, aside from the seal, he has been weakened mentally as stated earlier. If he is told to be kind he will be kind. If he is told to be sad he will be sad even if he doesn't understand why. Overall, Raiden's fighting instinct is the only thing he truly has left that cannot be altered. Aside from fighting, Raiden is also good for transportation. Due to his large size he can carry roughly two small people on his back and can travel between two main villages with ease. He could even fly there and back without growing too tired. This highlights his strength and stamina. Raiden is 5ft 3in and weighs 116ibs. Jutsu: - Spoiler:

Description: Shikatsu is the op summoning and ruler over all the birds of prey. He has been highlighted in the past as a messenger of death and an angel of the forsaken. No matter what his titles may be, Shikatsu is known for one thing - murder, destruction, and eating whole humans alive. To summon him normally requires blood and a human sacrifice - never bird seed or slugs like most other bird types. What's special about Shikatsu is that he can appear in two forms: his half human half bird form or his human form. Typically he uses his human form is blend in but in combat - except the see the bird. (Human form gained through Transformation Jutsu, He take the shape of a man he killed and devoured). With his powerful wings he can fly and instead of possessing a beak he has a human mouth, which grants him the ability to talk. Shikatsu also has a free thinking mind like most boss summonings as well. For jutsu he utilizes Raiton techniques for their deadly uses. Overall, Shikatsu is manipulative to most of his contractors until they learn to fight it off and earn his respect. Izumi was able to earn his respect by actually taking him on in a fight and proving her worth through various missions. She must never show weakness to Shikatsu. Otherwise he may try to manipulate her still. Shikatsu can make a good ally for he will protect his contractor, if they earned his respect like Izumi, but he will devour any human alive if they do not learn to work with him and show weakness. Izumi must always keep an eye on him when he is summoned for he will sometimes turn on her own allies if she is not careful with the thin "leash" around him.
