A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyWed Jun 01, 2011 9:24 pm

The sun was as bright as ever, when it came out on this day. It was also a day that had been colder than normal, and very weird day, and it was only just starting. Snow feel on the ground in the middle of the spring, which most people got upset about. Before this day, they weather had been just right. People were outside playing in the cool breeze, and the warm sun. Days like this were Drac's favorite kinds of days. He loved being outside, but he hated the cold the most. He had much trouble getting to sleep that night, because of the chill in his house. He was not prepared for such a cold day. He woke up and rubbed his eyes. His face was low, and his eyes looked as if they were about to close.

He got out of bed, stretched and moaned. He then yawned as he walked over to his closet, to get out his clothing for the day. He looked outside his window, and saw the snow. He shook his head in disappointment, because he really did not like the snow. He opened his window and looked up at the sky. "Are you kidding me? In the middle of spring?!" He yelled out so everyone around could hear him, and then he slammed his window shut. He thought today was just going to be one of those horrible days. He wanted nothing more to just crawl back into be, after getting himself some heavy blankets. However, Drac had a lot of things to get done today, so he had to head outside.

Drac put on some heavy clothing, because unlike most people who lived in the village of Kiri, he was not use to this kind of cold. He not born around Kiri, and most people could tell by just looking at him. He was way too tall and dark complected to be from around this village. He towered over everyone from the village, he was most certainly the tallest man in the village. He walked into the center of the village, and looked around at all the open shops. His face was no longer dragging as it once was before, he had a big smile on his face, because there was a sale at the butcher shop. He loved meat, and walked proudly to the shop, licking his lips the whole way there.

His mouth dropped as he looked at the various meats in the shop. This was like a spoiled children's birthday to him. He was so happy, he almost couldn't contain himself. "Well, can I get some Beef, Pork, Chicken, and Lamb? Oh and throw in whatever else you got" He asked the butcher. He was really excited about all the meat he was going to buy, cook, and then eat. He had trouble carrying all the meat he had bought home, but he finally arrived at home, and put all the meat away. "Now then, what shall I do with all this meat, before it goes bad? I couldn't eat this all by myself if I had tried." He snapped his fingers after he got and idea, and rushed outside to look for people. He would make a meal for all the Genin that he could find.

Not only would he make a meal, but afterwards he would be willing to train them. Drac could not wait much longer to be assigned his Genin team, so he would gather up a few of them, and feed them. They would get to know each other, and Drac would offer them help with training. Drac has always wanted to help out the younger ninja, but he really never got the chance to. This would be the perfect chance for him to do so. "Now, where would these little Genin be hiding?" He said in his normal talking voice, as he looked around the village. He hoped to find them soon, because his stomach was feeling light, and those around him could hear it growling. It even scared some people away. He jumped onto a building to get a better view. "Oh look, I think I've found one!" Drac yelled out as he jumped towards the person he thought was a Genin.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyWed Jun 01, 2011 9:50 pm

Unusual. Thats what today was. Anyone could tell it was a weird day, even if they acted completely indifferent, like it actually was normal. In a way, perhaps for the people of the village, it was normal. The snow itself, anyway...not necessarily the timing. But that didn't matter to them really, all it meant was some small talk about how strange it was. But other than that, the snow was normal. As for Takashi himself, he was rather indifferent about it all too. He had traveled most of the world at least four times over in his years, and he was used to weird climates. As a matter of fact, he took little notice other than the fact that it was snowing. Aside from that, it hardly mattered.

Either way though, it wasn't for a few hours after he was awake that he even noticed it was snowing or at least had snowed. He stayed in his house for quite awhile, which wasn't abnormal for him. He woke up early as he usually did, but spent the time helping out his parents do whatever they needed, and possibly spent some time to read a few books. Yes, he was a Genin of the village now, but as of yet it hadn't really affected him any. At the moment, it was just a title. He had yet to be assigned a team, and had been given no special instructions. He figured that, until he officially had a team and a schedule, he could do whatever he wanted, though training was encouraged. That is also what he usually did during the day once finally getting outside...train.

At the moment however, he was sitting alone in his room...fully clothed, two feet on the floor, looking at the ground while his elbows rested on his knees, supporting his weight as he bent over. He was breathing systematically and evenly, just staring at the ground...but he wasn't really looking at it. No, he was caught up in his own thoughts. This was not a rare thing for him to do, but it actually hadn't happened in awhile...not since moving to the village, he had never really had time. Next to the bed, near the head and near him was a small table with a lamp on it...and on that table was a picture of his dear sister, looking young and innocent...a big smile on her face. It was one of the only pictures that didn't have him in it as well. It was obvious what he was thinking about.

Suddenly, he stood up without a word and without a sound, snapping himself out of his trance. Usually when it came to thinking about his sister, his thoughts fell rather grim, and he needed to not think about that, hence the sudden movement. He took a moment to close his eyes, breathe deeply, and clear his mind. When he opened them again, they were rather blank, but so was his mind. He was getting there. He looked over at the wall to see his sheathed katana leaning up against the wall, and walked over to it. He looked at it a moment, before grabbing it and fastening it to his back like he always did. It was time he actually went outside...maybe enjoyed the snow. On his way out the door, he grabbed his jacket and put it on, figuring today of all days he would probably need it.

On his way out he waved and called out to his parents, announcing his departure. The house had been made to double as a store, and they were both standing behind the counter at the moment, though no one else was in. They smiled and waved him goodbye, though they were sad smiles. They knew how Takashi got when he locked himself in his room for long periods of time. Usually he was always out and about, helping out in small ways or even helping and conversing with customers to make them feel at home...one of the only times he acted out with anyone. All part of the job. Anyway, while sad and knowing, they were also happy that he had finally gotten himself outside. If nothing else, he would be distracted with his training and return home exhausted, but happy. They could ask for nothing more.

As he walked the village, he heard the crunch of snow underneath his foot with every step. At first he didn't notice it, but eventually stopped and looked down, and then behind him, looking back on the trail he had made with interest. Snow had always been an interest of his, the way it covered and changed the land on its surface. He also noticed that it was a little cold, though he wasn't bothered. His jacket actually worked quite well. What was he doing just walking around though? While his initial intentions had been to train, it turned out he was going to take a walk again. This wasn't unusual either, for he enjoyed just walking...it got his mind relaxed a bit. He also noticed that there weren't many other people around. It looked to him like most people were inside their houses keeping cozy while the kids played outside in the snow, not at all caring that it was supposed to be at least somewhat warm right now.

He sighed contently and began to move forward when suddenly something happened. To his side he heard someone approaching...though just barely. Were it not for the snow he probably would have missed them. Nonetheless he turned his head and saw a jounin approaching. Strange that he would take the attention of such a ninja, but he stood at attention somewhat casually, though completely attentively. He was approaching quickly, and he was ready to see what the man had to say...not sure if he should be curious or worried. It didn't look like the man was coming to deliver bad news or anything like that, so things looked positive for him. Either way, he simply waited.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyWed Jun 01, 2011 10:25 pm

Drac knew he had made the right choice to jump down from the buildings once he saw this boy walking around. The boy was a lot smaller than Drac, but so where most people that he knew. The boy had a sword on his back, this made Drac smile. Drac was very skilled in the ways of the sword, and this boy was probably good himself. Although before Drac could think about anything else, He needed to get something in his stomach. Drac looked over the boy a little bit more. He seemed a bit serious, because he was standing at attention. He liked this in the boy, and gained a little respect for him because of it. "I am Drac Tenshi, Jounin of this village." Drac said in a very serious tone, and bowed at the boy. He smiled at the boy and shook his head just a tad. He got onto the boys level and gave him a somewhat serious look.

"I see you have a sword there. I also tend to carry around a sword with me, but I left mine at home for the moment." He looked over the sword while it was still sheathed. Drac did not think there was anything special to it, because he was still to young to hold a weapon of much power. Drac would have the chance to show him what a real weapon did, and this made him smile. "You do not have to stand like that anymore, I'm glad you feel the need to, it shows good character. Thank you." Drac was already liking this boy, because he showed several good qualities. He would make a very fine ninja someday. Drac backed away from the boy and looked back towards his house. He was eager to get back and start cooking.

"Young man, I want to make you an offer." He said looking into the boys eyes, with a face that showed no signs of a joke. "I am rather bored lately, seeing as the Mizukage has yet to give me a Genin team of my own, so I am looking for Genin, so I can help the village out. I am willing to help you train, if you wish it." He paused for a moment and looked around. "However, I have not eaten yet, today. I, however, have food waiting at home, would you be so kind as to join me in a meal?" He knew that he had a lot of food, and the two of them could not finish all the food by themselves. Before the young boy could talk, Drac walked passed him, and began looking for others to join them.

"I have a lot of food to prepare, and I know the two of us could not finish it ourselves. I would enjoy it, if other Genin could join us as well. This way, we can all eat and then go on to training together." He moved against a nearby wall and closed his eyes. "If you know of anyone else, please, by all means go get them. We can meet back here in say, half an hour?" He looked at the boy, and thought that maybe that could be the wrong choice. "However, if you do not know anyone else, we can go looking together, if you wish." He hoped the boy had some friends, because it was hard going through life without any one there for you. Drac did not want anyone to grow up like he did.

For the majority of his life Drac, was all alone. This boy seemed to be nothing like Drac when he was little. He had a lot of character, and respect for other people. When Drac was little, he had no such thing. Since the boy was in the village, and already a Genin, he knew that things were probably looking for up for him. He had hope that the boy was not going to grow up that way, and Drac would not let that happen. If any Genin in this village were heading down that path, he would do the best he could to stop them.

Drac shook his head, because he had been lost in his thought for a few moments, and realized that the boy was still there. "Alright, so what do you say to lunch and then some training?" He said with a smile. "Well, after we find some other Genin to tag along with us that is." He started to walk slowly, so that the Genin could see he was leaving, and once Takashi caught up he would speed up to his normal pace. "Come, we'll make better time if we use the buildings" He said as he jumped into the air and landed on the nearest building.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyThu Jun 02, 2011 2:56 pm

He watched the man approach somewhat quickly, and remained at attention as he did so. He couldn't help but notice that he looked somewhat...hungry, though it was a subtle thing to notice. In fact, the only reason he could even tell was because he was used to seeing hungry people in his travels around the world. Occasionally they sold food in addition to their regular items, though they were never able to hold onto it all quickly enough because it was usually bought up pretty quick. And why not? They sold it rather cheaply, as it was not the main purpose of their shop, and the towns they visited were usually in poverty and very grateful. To see the face of a hungry villager light up with thankfulness was something Takashi enjoyed seeing greatly, even if he didn't show it or admit it. That thought drifted into his mind as he watched the man approach, and his thoughts were momentarily filled with thoughts of feeding him, though they were repressed rather quickly as he dismissed them as silly.

When the man, the Jounin, came up to him, he quickly introduced himself, though in a serious tone. That made him wonder what his purpose was...if it was important or something. He took the time to quickly observe him, look over him, though his eyes never exactly left his face as he remained at attention. He couldn't help but think he had seen him somewhere before...and thought back to the Jounin that had returned the stolen goods to him. He was unsure if this was even him, because he didn't get a look at the Jounin's face as it was covered in shadows. Maybe the similarity came from the outfit, because it was his impression that most of them all wore a similar jacket. But then again maybe not. When he introduced himself, he nodded at him respectfully and gave his own name, "Takashi Yoshino, sir."

He took a moment to take into consideration the smile he was given after the man, or Drac as he said his name was, introduced himself. It confused him slightly, though he didn't show it. First serious, then a smile. Now he was curious what he was up to. At any rate, after Takashi introduced himself in return, attention seemed to shift towards his weapon, and Takashi couldn't help but move his eyes to look over his shoulder in his sword's direction at its mention. He couldn't see it completely as he didn't move his head, but he was picturing it as it was mentioned. What Drac said interested him a bit...he also used a sword? Then he wasn't the only one who relied on a sword. That gave him a little bit of hope and made him feel like he wasn't so completely alone in the village, and when he looked back at the Jounin, he was smiling just a little bit.

He noticed that at that point he was smiling at him again kindly, which made him feel a little awkward...the two of them smiling at each other, and they didn't even know each other further than names. Not to mention he was still standing at attention, which was also weird. Ironically, at that point, he basically told him to be at ease, and so he did...letting his body relax a bit though he didn't slouch, still looking up at him. Apparently the problem was his standing at attention, because now he didn't feel so awkward, or at least not as awkward. He also complimented him, which made him feel a little better too, which probably had something to do with it all. Suddenly he turned and looked behind him, back at a building at a house in particular. Takashi wondered if this was his house, and tilted his head slightly in interest, again noticing the subtle desire for food. When he looked back though he put his head back and place and looked at him attentively.

Drac started off by saying he had an offer, which made Takashi blink in curious interest. It could be noticed that alot of Takashi's communication was done nonverbally, relying on his facial expressions or just gestures in general. It wasn't because he didn't like to talk, he just never found talking to those he didn't know very easy outside of the general "salesman" talk he always used when running a stall while his parents were off somewhere else in the town they were visiting at the time. Contrary to popular belief, it really didn't help you make small talk or interact very well. Outside of such, the only people he really ever talked to was his own family...and he was actually quite talkative and interactive with them. Yes, it took someone close to make him come out of his shell, so to speak.

As to the matter at hand, he listened attentively and that attention showed in his eyes as the Jounin went on. He was interested by his word choice throughout, finding it a little humorous even at points, but by the time he mentioned training, his eyes widened slightly. Getting trained by this man? It sounded...amazing. No offence to his father, but this man looked like the real deal. He was a Jounin after all, one of the village's best...and a swordsman too. He knew there was much he could learn from him but observation alone, and quite frankly, the idea excited him, though he remained focused and such excitement only showed in his eyes, along with his attention.

At this point, he looked around and mentioned food, and Takashi couldn't help but grin. He knew it, he WAS hungry, and the fact that he figured that out on his own pleased him. He didn't let that grin stay for long though, because he then mentioned other Genin. More guests huh? It was an interesting idea, and maybe a chance to make some friends...he hoped. He had asked a question, but continued to go on even without him answering, so he just listened patiently, following him as he moved. At one point, he leaned up against a wall and closed his eyes, basically describing to him two different scenarios that could unfold depending on who he knew. This disappointed him a bit...because he didn't know anyone. Not at all. He didn't have any friends in this place, and he was almost reluctant to admit such.

It looked like he was done talking now, and was leaning against the wall in a thoughtful kind of way, though he still took the opportunity to actually answer him. His voice was crisp and to the point, but also polite and respectful. "I would be honored to join you for a meal, and even more honored to join you for some training. However..." his tone dropped a bit and slowed, expressing that he was actually somewhat ashamed to admit what came next. "I do not know anyone else. I have actually just moved to this village, and I have yet to make any friends." it sounded like he should be looking at the ground in shame, but he was still looking directly at the man.

At this point, the man just shook his head, looking like he had just come out from a trance, but his response was that as if he had been listening the entire time. So he would follow him as they went to look for some Genin, then eat, then train. The way he dismissed his whole negative attitude for the moment actually made him feel better and even a little foolish for feeling such. He couldn't help but smile a bit and follow after him when he started to walk, nodding a bit in agreement to the game plan. When he reached them he picked up his pace a bit, and he followed at the same speed. But then something unexpected happened. After a moment, he said something unexpected and then did something even more unexpected. He jumped to the rooftop of the nearest building...just, straight from the ground to the roof. He could only look up at him and blink, completely perplexed. After awhile, he had to say something...admit something. "I...don't know how to do that...?" the only reason he sounded so unsure, said that he didn't know how to do it as if it was something that could be learned. He did this due to the way he automatically assumed that he DID know how...which interested him as much as it astonished him.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyThu Jun 02, 2011 9:44 pm

"Takashi Yoshino" He said it out load once, and in his head several times. "That name, sounds very familiar to me." Drac could not but his finger on where he had heard that name before, but it did no matter at this point. The boy could have been a trouble maker at one point, and it would not matter, he knew his manners and showed a lot of respect to those around him. He liked Takashi, it was a very good first impression on the boys part. "You are a very well mannered ninja, Takashi. I bet you make your father proud." He said with a smile. The boy looked like he was ready to go, and enjoy some food, and even more excited to get training. He was probably never formally trained, besides his days in the academy. That was probably the reason he was more eager to start training. Drac would have to hurry and find others, because he did not wish to keep the young genin waiting.

No friends? That seemed a little unfair for the little boy, and moving to anywhere new was not fun. Drac felt bad for the boy, just coming here, with no one to play with him. This was all too real for Drac. He felt Takashi pain, because he had been through life without friends. Drac would make it his goal to find someone Takashi's age that he would get along with. "Hey, I was new to this village once before." He said with a half smile looking at Takashi. "We'll find you some friends soon." He looked away from Takashi, and his smile went away. The truth was Drac still do not have many friends these days. People were still scared to go near him, even though he was a very kind man. The boy had more hope of finding friends, than Drac did. Takashi would probably lead a normal ninja life.

"Well, since you do not have friends, like I said before, we will go look of other genin together. They shouldn't be that hard to find, after all, this is a ninja village." After Drac had jumped on the building, he looked down and saw that Takashi had yet to follow him. He wondered why, but soon Takashi spoke up. "What do you mean you can't do this?" Drac was puzzled as to why this by, a genin, could not jump onto a building. He assumed they taught this kind of thing in the academy, it was very basic, and even some normal citizens could do it. Did Takashi know anything about chakra? How did he make it through the academy? He had heard of a similar thing from the leaf village, many, many years ago, but this case was very different. This really sparked Drac's interest to why he hadn't even learned how to jump like this. He folded his arms and sighed. "Well, I'll tell you wait, we'll travel on foot for now, and once we eat and train, you'll know how to do this, and a lot more."

Drac jumped down, still confused as to how Takashi did not know how to use chakra, at all. He was probably only skilled at using a sword, not even knowing the basics of being a ninja. This would prove a challenge for him and Takashi. It would almost be like teaching an academy student at this point, besides all the book work. Drac was sure he knew a little bit about being in a battle, otherwise the sword would prove useless. Drac looked ahead of him and started to walk. He would have to find other genin, so that he could train them as well. "Well, Takashi, I do have some questions to ask of you. Your case is." He paused for a moment, thinking of the proper thing to say. "Is, well, something I've never witnessed before." He was deep in thought, while he was talking, so he would pause more than often. "I won't know how its going to fare out, until I see you, on the training field. With that, we must hurry and find others." With that, Drac began to walk at a much quicker pace.

Drac sighed, because it had almost been an hour and there was no sigh of other Genin in the village. He thought it must have been the cold weather, and the snow. Most Genin were probably either on a mission, or resting indoors. This was troublesome, because Drac did not want to go searching in Genins homes. This would not prove well, if he entered the wrong home. He shook his head and looked down to Takashi. "Alright, Takashi, it looks as if there is no one out here. We'll have to eat lunch by ourselves, and train one on one, how does that sound?" He said with his same serious face. He was hoping that more genin would join them, but it could not be helped. He looked towards the direction of his house. "Alright, try to keep up." Drac said as he raced off to his house.

Soon, the two arrived at Drac's house. "Here it is." He said, as he opened up for the door for Takashi. "Go ahead and make yourself at home, while I prepare the food." Drac left Takashi in his living room, and went into his kitchen. He began pulling food from his storage, and started up his stove. "It should be ready within forty-five minutes." He said as he peered into the room where Takashi was.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyFri Jun 03, 2011 1:57 pm

Takashi couldn't help but frown, more on the inside than the outside, at Drac's response to what he had admitted. Just as he imagined, apparently most "Genin" knew how to do things such as jump from the ground to the top of a building, or shoot fireballs from his mouth. Personally, he viewed such things as superhuman, which made the fact that such was expected all the more surprising. But he was a Genin himself, even if he had been admitted to such a status by the Mizukage. But then it hit him. Part of becoming a Genin in the village was to learn the basics of being a ninja. Albeit, it was all book learning and no execution, but nonetheless he had to learn. He had read and studied for awhile, understanding concepts but never delving into effects. He took a guess and figured that all of these things had to do with chakra. In that moment, his mind was opened, though he still had no idea how to control or even detect the chakra within him, but he was happy understanding.

Nonetheless, he still felt guilty. Being a Genin, not only knowing the concepts, but being able to put them into action was something that was expected of him. He felt as though he had cheated the system, because he had shot up to such a rank without properly being able to do the basics, even though he was learning or was supposed to learn them. As such, if Drac even planned to train him still, which he would completely understand if he did not, it would mean more work for him. Work that, if he had simply gone to the academy despite being rather old, he himself would not have to do. He honestly felt dirty because of this, and saw himself as an unnecessary burden to not only Drac, but probably the whole village. Not only that, but he would probably become something of a laughing stock. Either that, or people would feel like he was privileged or something, which wasn't true at all. He wasn't too worried about THAT, but it was still a thought. It was in that moment that, if Drac was still willing to train him, he would work harder than ever to learn and hopefully learn quickly.

Looking up at him from the ground, Drac seemed disappointed or at least confused by the way he crossed his arms and sighed, and for a moment Takashi felt ashamed and disappointed as well, but the words that followed next, though not exactly lively, still proved he planned on training him. He couldn't help but sigh in relief, and his resolve and dedication increased two-hundred percent in that moment alone. Not a moment later, Drac landed on the ground beside him with the resolution to walk for the moment. He nodded in agreement, and half wondered if he could feel the dedication just radiating off of him. He wasn't sure if he should hope he did or not though.

They walked for a few moments before Drac spoke again, bringing up his thoughts on the situation. He admitted to being rather dumbfounded at what he didn't know, and Takashi could only smile and laugh slightly in agreement that it was stupid, but neither such actions were real. On the inside he still felt rather insignificant, maybe unworthy, but ready to learn all the same. Closely following that, what he said next filled him with dread as he realized something he hadn't yet. They were going to find more Genin...meaning they would not be training alone. A large mess of negative thoughts went through his mind at that moment. His lack of knowledge would surely show to the other Genin, and they would most likely consider him pathetic. Either that, or all the actually experienced Genin, with their ability to actually do anything, would take so much of Drac's attention that he would basically be left on the sidelines...waiting for the attention that would never come. All these thoughts and more hit him, and he had a dreadful feeling in his gut, though he was sure not to show this at all. Perhaps the only thing that kept him going and kept him optimistic is what Drac again mentioned. At the moment, he was unsure about him, though admitted he wasn't going to make assumptions until he actually saw him fight. He quickly replaced his dread with a surge of desire to prove himself.

At that point they picked up speed as they walked, and while Takashi personally did not want to find any other Genin, he still looked out for others. In the hour or more that followed where they looked around for more, they spoke little, though Takashi proved how little he knew. He kept pointing out people to Drac, saying 'Theres one.' but in truth he always brought attention to regular citizens, few as even those were, and Drac would always tell him that they were not. Eventually, he resolved to just keep his mouth shut, and rather than pointing out who the thought was a Genin, observed those Drac did not bring attention to. It was a strange method of learning, but it was all he could do at the moment. If they were to have found any other Genin in that time, he probably would have realized that most Genin are characterized by the headband they wear. He himself did not have one at the moment, so he continued to not know they existed. If they had found another, he would have realized this, and wondered how Drac recognized HIM without one.

At any rate, the search was fruitless. They did not find another Genin. Apparently it was their day off or something, or so Takashi figured considering he was unaware of missions and such that they often went on. In truth, he didn't even realize the search was over until Drac said so. Instead he changed the deal. The two of them were to eat lunch alone, and later train one on one. He asked him how he thought, and really, he was extremely relieved and even more excited. He wasn't a very social person, and while he was...somewhat eager to make some companions, this wasn't exactly the way he envisioned doing so. He tried not grin as he answered him, though a small one did form, but his voice still remained polite and respectful. "That sounds just fine to me." He tried to turn his grin into a smile, though whether or not that worked he was unsure. He would have said that it sounded "perfect", which it did, but Drac seemed almost disappointed that they could not find any others, and his face was so serious. He did not want to express how he wanted to train one on one from the very beginning.

They picked up the pace, and actually started to run, towards his house. They weren't very far from it, surprisingly, and Takashi took this as his first opportunity to impress him. He sort of turned it into a race, attempting to run faster than the Jounin. He knew he could do no such thing, but he wanted to at least show him he had good speed and endurance. He kept up, though he was sure he wasn't moving as fast as he could. Even so, he hoped he made some kind of impression...a good one, that is. Drac spoke a little, and opened the door for him. He nodded and gave a rather quiet thank you before entering, and walked into the living room as he was instructed. He quietly went in, and saw a small table in the room, which he assumed they were going to eat, so promptly sat down at one end and waited patiently. He could hear him in the kitchen getting things started, and for the moment he was alone. Unintentionally, his thoughts began to swim again. He thought about how much of a disappointment he probably was in not knowing anything, and hung his head rather slightly, not much, as he waited. At some point Drac called out, saying the food would be ready in about forty-five minutes, and Takashi called back, still as respectfully as ever, not letting his sudden shame show. "Okay." He did not notice Drac looking in on him.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptySun Jun 05, 2011 3:00 am

Drac noticed that Takashi had become a little sadden. Drac assumed it was because he himself had seemed a little disappointed that no other Genin were coming. However, Drac was acting more disappointed than he really was. He was just trying to make Takashi feel like others would have joined them, had they found him. He wanted to find him some friends his own age, but today would not be that day. He had to start acting a little less serious around this boy, because he probably had never been around real ninja before. The boy was simply going off by what he heard of thought he knew. He did not wish to treat him like a child, because Takashi was no child. However, he knew that treating him like an adult would be out of the question. More so, an adult ninja, because he surly had the manners of an adult, but not the knowledge of a ninja.

Even though Drac was confused to how a Genin could not do something to that degree he could not bring it up again, at least not until training. He did not want to make Takashi feel uneasy around him, that was never his intention. He wanted to show him how great the village really was, and he knew he was still going to do just that. Drac had to but on a less serious attitude, more upbeat than he is use to. However, he knew that he could not look fake either. The more Drac thought about it, it would probably be very simple to teach. Even though he hadn't really thought about the basics in a long time, because nowadays they just came natural. But thinking back, it came to him, right after he had said something to Takashi. It would be cake teaching him. Drac smiled at Takashi after realizing that.

The two walked into Drac's house, and he began cooking. He could not cook all the food he wanted, because it was just the two of them, but it would just mean he could have more of it later. The house was soon filled with amazing smells of meat and vegetables. Drac liked to cook in his spare time, so if he ever could no longer be a ninja, he would have this to fall back on. It was a passion of his, and it has came in handy several times. After about an hour or so, he was finally finished. It was longer than he had planned, but he knew that Takashi would probably not mind. He preprepared the plates and brought the food to the table, where Takashi sat. He smiled as he sat down, and looked over his food. "I'm sorry it took longer a little longer than excepted, but it is sure to be a good meal." He said licking his lips, now glaring at his food. He waited until Takashi started to eat, before he touched any of his food.

"Takashi, I want to apologize for the way I acted earlier. It was rude of me, and to jump to conclusion like that, I am truly sorry." He paused and waited for Takashi to say something. "I know I said it is something basic, and that just means you'll get it easy. You'll have it down in no time, it will be cake for you." He said with a smile. He started to eat a lot faster now, so the two of them could get out on the field a lot sooner. "Oh, and I'm glad it is just gonna be you and I training. The only real reason I wanted others to come with us, is so that they could share in this wonderful food. You see, I bought too much today, and I'm afraid it will spoil if not consumed quick enough." Afterwards, Drac finished his plate, and got seconds, offering Takashi more, if he wished for it. There was plenty for the two of them, enough for them to have it for two meals.

After both of them finished, Drac took their plates, and put them aside in his sink. He walked back into his eating area and looked at Takashi. "Alright, I just need to get a few things, and we shall be on our way." He smiled and went to his bedroom. He only took a few weapons with him, enough that he could easily move with. He returned to the room Takashi was in, and moved towards his front door. "Alright, now that our stomachs are good and full, we can go train, and get you stronger. This part will be a walk in the park for you." Drac smiled at Takashi, and turned back towards the door. "Afterwards, if you still want me to train you, I'll push you, like no one else has. I hope you are up for that." Drac knew that Takashi could handle being pushed, he was a strong looking boy, and had probably pushed himself close to his limits before. He would most certainly be a strong ninja later in life. "Let's move out!" Drac raised his voice, as he walked out his door, towards the training field.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptySat Jun 11, 2011 9:51 pm

Takashi started to sigh as he sat looking at the table, but before he knew what was happening, it actually turned into a yawn. This was unintentional, and for some reason, it took him by surprise, and for a moment there was a hilarious look of bewilderment on his face, and while he didn't realize it was there, if he had, he would surely hope that nobody had seen it. Nevertheless, he subconsciously took the sudden change in action as a sign. Here he was, feeling sorry for himself because he didn't know something that others his age did. What did he expect? He had just come to the village few months ago, and had only undertaken study of the ways not even a week ago. He took a moment to mentally slap himself. How silly of him. The very fact that, despite knowing nothing at all, he had been jumped up to such a rank meant the Mizukage saw something in him, saw some potential. If so, that meant he had alot of live up to, that he was worthy of the rank somehow.

Needless to say, he brightened himself up a bit. So...he didn't know anything right NOW. He had always been a quick learner, his skill with the katana still on his back was proof of that, and he would probably catch on pretty quickly. He sighed, and this time, it was a complete sigh. However, it was a sigh contentment, of happiness, of resolve, of realizing an epiphany. He looked up at the ceiling for some reason, and smiled. Some way or another, he had made a connection here. His resolve had been re-realized, and and his purpose came into his mind. While looking up at the ceiling, smile still showing, he barely muttered the words of his purpose for living. "Saeko...I'm going to become strong, and I'm going to find you. Promise." He closed his eyes and pictured her smiling face...and for a moment he forgot where he was.

He remained this way for about 15 minutes, though it felt like eternity, and Drac was still in the kitchen getting this ready. Eventually he opened his eyes and found himself at a peace he hadn't felt in a long time. He came to notice that for the past couple of days he had been brooding a bit, his mind obsessed with his sister and their situation, but in a negative way. Now, it had gone to the positive, and he felt amazing, and breathed out softly as though he had been holding his breath the entire time. He looked around the cozy room and took in the details of the place. It really was a nice home, but definitely a private one. As in, only Drac lived here, but it was accessible to visitors and guests when they came. He liked it. It was more luxurious than his house in a way, but he still fancied his shop-house double a bit more. No place like home after all.

He remained there, by himself and left to his thoughts quietly for what turned out to be an hour despite Drac saying things would only take 45 minutes, but he really didn't mind. He hadn't noticed it until now, but this was the first real interaction with someone other than his family that he had had since moving here. The customers didn't really count because they were just...customers. Perhaps that was why he didn't mind just sitting there, because he knew it was worthwhile. Surely, if he was by himself and sitting there for no reason, he would have gotten bored and moved on to something else by now. But he was content to wait politely and quietly. While he made the gesture appear as one of politeness and respect to the Jounin, it was actually really a gesture of thankfulness that even he had completely realized yet. But he would, soon enough.

Before long at all, Drac was bringing in the food, and as much as he didn't like to stare, he found himself captivated by the aroma and sight of it, and found himself staring at it hungrily. As if on que, his stomach suddenly rumbled to reveal the hunger that had creeped up on him. He couldn't help but from in embarrassment, but he quickly saw that it didn't matter, for Drac was staring at it as well, perhaps just as hungrily. Respect demanded that he allow him to get the first bite, but it looked as though Drac was waiting for him to do the same. He figured since he WAS the guest, and he WAS a jounin, that he should probably do so, and slowly took a first bite. The taste was exquisite, and he was left stunned for a moment at the taste. For the longest time he thought his mother was the best cook in the world, not even the chefs at fancy inns around the world were better than her...but he thought for sure that he could give her a run for her money.

He tried not to let his captivation show for too long, and was eventually eating at a regular pace, secretly enjoying every morsel. Before long, Drac said something, which caused Takashi to stop eating and look straight at him, a curious look on his face when he said he was apologizing. He couldn't help but be modest, and had to contradict him for what he was apologizing for, though respectfully of course. "Oh no, you don't have to apologize, really. I am a Genin after all, and I understand that Genin are supposed to know such things before even being granted the rank. If anyone is in the wrong, it is me for being where I am without acquiring the proper prerequisites. Thank you, though..." He wasn't entirely sure why he ended with a thank you, though it probably had something to do with the fact that he admitted he was wrong, even if Takashi didn't agree with it. It was a gesture he did not see very often, even around the world.

He continued to go on with a smile on his face, his way of taking what he said in full but going on anyway, not dwelling on any settled matters. Takashi couldn't help but smile at what he said, and he understood his reasoning, and nodded in agreement, giving a small "I see" as he did so, and continuing his delicious meal. It wasn't before long that they were done, and he could feel a small bulge in his stomach, making him feel fatter. It was signs of eatin', and he was quite content with it. However, he was even more excited to get training. Those things that he lacked the knowledge of so dearly, he was probably going to learn here and now, and he couldn't wait another second, though he remained calm and patient. He took his plate and announced he was grabbing a few things, and in return he smile and nodded in return as he left.

He stood up and stretched at that point, giving out another content sigh. He wasn't sure what time it was at the moment, but he didn't really care. He was willing to go out there even if it was in the middle of the night. He was pumped, in other words. Drac came back, spoke a bit, and started to move towards the door. Takashi followed behind him with excitement, giving a determined "You won't be disappointed." as he did so. For some reason, when Drac said "Let's move out!" it gave him a surge of energy, and he broke out of his shell almost as a large grin hit his face. Something about Drac just made him a natural leader, he could tell. His excitement seeped into those that followed, and his commands, you could say, were inspiring. He couldn't wait to actually learn from him, though he had to follow at this point...for he wasn't really sure where the training area was at the moment.

A quiet day in the snow Empty
PostSubject: Re: A quiet day in the snow   A quiet day in the snow EmptyFri Jun 17, 2011 11:42 am

Gluttony:

A pleasant book store; a place of solitude and knowledge. Even with the rambuctioness and the distractions outside from the unwanted snow, the book store still seemed to have its own aura eminating from it; it still held that feeling of comfort. The book store's looks didn't exactly hold up though; as it was tiny, maybe about 15 feet by 20 feet. On the outside the place seemed to be very dull; with its wihte walls, white doors, and even white room, the only thing that really stood out was the sign next to it that big suprise was white saying "House Of Knowledge."

On the inside the book store seemed actually very different. It seemed to still have its quiet aura about it, yet it looked fun. The walls on the inside were actually a burgundy color, the ceiling had the same white color as outside, inside was only four bookshelves that were kept in the middle of the store, surrounding an oak pole; next to the door was a blue table with a cash register on it, obviously supposed to be where you bought the books but the problem was there was no one was sitting behind the table.

Sitting ontop of a chair near the book cases was a girl, a blank face was across her face as her golden eyes seemed to eat up the book that was placed in her lap. Her shiny blonde hair was hidden by the grey hood that was lifted up, due to the chilly air out side. The attire that this girl was wearing was an over sized grey hoody with "Laura's babysitting company," marked on it with orange letters, some baggy blue jeans that were obviously held up with a belt, some black converses, and she had on a pair of black finger less gloves.

With an audible moan of effort, the girl got out of the chair and picked up the vast amount of books she wished to purchase. Taking delicate, dancer like steps she walked over to the table; her body seemed to sway along to some type of invisible music that only she could hear. As she neared the table her bell like voice shattered the silence within, matching that of the disturbance outside. "Exscuse me, is anyone here."

A scraggly, deep voice eminated from some place unknown to the girl. "Just leave your money on the table and get out!" Puzzlement crossed the girl's face as she dug the right amount of money out of her back pocket; throwing the wad on the table, and left the book store. With the pile of books blocking her vision, she had to listen to individual sounds around her to avoid people while attempting to walk to her house. This technique wasn't fool proof though because she still ran into the occasional wall.

Eventually she gave up, and decided to just sit in a nearby tree and relax. Making the decision final she hopped into a tree and curled up in a ball and sat her books next to her. Now all I need is music and no distractions and this day will be perfect!
