The Kinkou Clan is a very old and mysterious clan. Little is known of their past or what skills or goals they have. What is known is that they live on an island off the coast of the Bear Country, between Kumo and Kiri and that they have existed there as long as the great shinobi villages have and possibly even longer. Though despite the small size of the clan and the mysteries surrounding them, the shinobi villages never try to investigate this mysterious clan due to mishaps in the past. On several scouting attempts from various villages, all those who manage to get close to the island are never heard from again. This lead to an outrage of the leaders, which lead to the only known meeting of a Kinkou clan official and representatives of the shinobi villages. This meeting was held at the leaf village and during this meeting it was made clear that nobody was to go near the island. The leaders at first didn't agree to this and the dispute soon turned to war.

The war between the Kinkou Clan and the Great Shinobi Villages was one that would never be recorded however. The war between the separate villages and the Kinkou clan lasted only three days. This three day war consisted of nothing but a wild goose chase, as for when the ships arrived to make siege of the Kinkou clans island, they found nothing. The island completely disappeared and remained that way to all who arrived. With nothing to attack the villages forces could do nothing but sit there as the Kinkou suck their ships with a blind furry forcing them to retreat. It was on the third day that several villages gave up their attack, in fear of how many shinobi they would lose to the mysterious Kinkou clan. Shortly after another meeting was called, which the Kinkou accepted. It was there that a treaty was formed that nobody would disturb the kinkou clan any longer. The Kinkou agreed to the terms and returned to their island, which they stayed for several more years without any word.

One day however the Kinkou ran into problems they hadn't before, they had been struck by a terrible plague, a virus that was carried to their island by chance through the sea born. This terrible plague demolished the clans numbers, making them try to seek help or be completely whipped out. The clan decided to turn to the leaf village, being that it was them that lead the treaty with the clan in the past. The leaf village decided to help the clan and opened trade routes with them to help them in their time of need. To do so though meant that the Kinkou clan would have to share their knowledge and secrets with the leaf village. Despite what the clan felt towards this they agreed.

Soon enough the Kinkou clan was cured and back on their feet thanks to the leaf village and their resources and as promised they shared their secrets with the officials of the lead village. Impressed with what the had learned, the leaf village decided to make a secret bond with the Kinkou clan, establishing a full on trade route and alliance with them. This alliance lasted to this very day, until the current situation with the clan's sudden change in power. With the clan under new order and the new uprising within, the leaf village has placed the alliance on hold. This has caused them to lose all contact with the clan, however their heir of the clan, Sheen, the key piece to the clans purpose and secrets, lives within the leaf village, under the watchful eye of the Hokage.

Even though the village can not go in to help set things straight within the clan and sort of the balance in power, they will still honor their old alliance with the clan's true heir, Sheen, as he is the last known member of the last order of the clan. So as wished by the former elders of the clan, as described in a letter to the Hokage, the leaf village and the clan can resume all old affairs once the balance in found again and Sheen would be the one to bring order once again. Until then though he is under the steady growth and protection of the leaf village.

Shadow Fist Style: The shadow fist style is an unique fighting style used by the Kinkou clan. This fighting style is based around the usage of a mix of the other four different styles used by the kinkou clan and small usage of their kekkei genkai. This fighting style is only learned by those who claim the title of Fist of Shadows.

Cobra Style: Cobra style is a fighting style based around fast strikes that are used to target pressure points and lethal points in the human body. It is not uncommon for hand armament's or fist weapons to be used within this stance to increase the damage caused. Cobra style is more a very offensive style, which is more effective based on how fast the user is.

Bear Style: Bear style is a fighting style based around heavy blows and open palm strikes. This style focuses on doing large amount of damage to the body, usually the chest, to crack bones and weaken the body. It is not uncommon for gauntlets or some form of arm armor to be used to increase the damage by these type of attacks. Bear style is a very power based style, which is more effective based on how strong the user is.

Lotus Style: Lotus style is a fighting style based more around a balanced footing and countering an opponent to cause damage. By using their force and weight to flip opponents or blocking and then breaking bones with open strikes. Lotus style is more of a defensive style, which is more effective based on both strength and speed.

Hitan Style: Hitan style is a fighting style that is only learned by those who have learned all three of the other styles in full. This style holds no focus on attacks but instead uses a combination of the three styles while combining them with kenjutsu.

Shadougunjin is an unique bloodline trait that has been passed down through the gene pool of the Kinkou clan for generations. This unique Kekkei Genkai allows the user to control and manipulate shadows in strange ways, enhancing them with their chakra or using them as paths to move around in battle. To a Kinkou clan member, a shadow is like a portal to something more, a manifestation of darkness, which they use as their greatest weapon in battle.

The method that members of the Kinkou clan use to do this is within their chakra itself. It acts as a medium that connects them to the darkness that is a shadow and allows them to pull it or push themselves into it. This can be done directly, which takes less chakra or can be done from a few feet away, which takes more concentration and a little more chakra. (This works kinda like chakra string. The user will project their chakra, like a puppeteer will with chakra strings, and connect it to a shadow. From that point they can feed chakra to that shadow and use it as they would normally.

The most difficult thing for a Kinkou clan member to do is bring in shadows from a source, but it is their strongest of usages for them. The user will connect their chakra to a source or several sources and pull them in, expanding their size over a large area. From that point they will be able to use the shadows with more verity and also have more space to use the shadows as paths.

The Twilight Eye is an unique and very rare power that is only passed down through the Kinkou Clan. It is very unique because it, unlike other traits passed down through clans, the Twilight Eye does not pass down to multiple members. It only passes to one person at a time and only appears within a new member when the person before that one dies or passes away. It chooses it's user, based on what it sees fit.

When the Twilight Eye finds the heir that it finds worthy, it brands their life with its presence. Those who are branded with its existence are forced to protect it, being the reason as to why the Kinkou clan exists in the first place. The heir will not just be the protector though but a test of "man" to the eye, which allows the eye to make proper choices in who it will move to next. Based on how many test the user manages to pass determines how much of the Eyes power they will be allowed to access.

Tests of the Twilight Eye:

First Test - True Sight: The user will be subjected to the Eyes "True Sight" abilities, which allows the heir's eyes to never be clouded by anything other then sold objects. They will be able to see perfectly fine through the brightest of light or deepest void of darkness. The user will also be able to pierce and see through Genjutsu that is casted on them. Certain forms of genjutsu can have some effects on the heir though. Ones that stress the mind or sight will bare no effect at all. Others that find ways to affect the body (say like Itachi's Tsukuyomi, where the jutsu can affect the body and cause physical pain, like as to what Kakashi felt.) Though the effects of the jutsu will be less effective due to the lack of mental stress placed on the user.t

However, even though the eye bares a great power it also has a catch to it. The eye, unlike other forms of power in the Naruto World, does not consume chakra to do what it does. Instead it plagues the heir with mental tests and burdens that can drain the heir or cloud their mind and make them doubt themselves. It does this almost constantly due to the fact that the eye can never be turned off. It will grant more mental tests to the heir with the various alignments that people give off, positive, negative, or neutral.

Second Test - Enlightenment: Enlightenment is a test that the eye will bring upon the heir once it finds that they have met the requirements fulfilled by True Sight. This is only done when the heir has placed judgment upon enough alignments and added them to their own, achieving all three views that th eye possess, good, evil, and neutral.

Each of these Sights change the heir and affect them differently. The more the user is exposed to will change their personality in various ways and shape their views, as done through the process of the first test, True Sight. These changes will also later affect the heir if they make it to the later tests. This phase of the test will also only go into effect once a chain of events occurs that allows the heir to come to a full baring on their own alignment after the lasting effects of the constant exposure to other people's alignments. Once the heir comes to an acceptance of this degree they will be able to move to the next step, which is why this test has been known as "Enlightenment".

The positive effects of the heir coming into the stage of Enlightenment is the increase in understanding and flow of synergy within themselves, allowing better flow of energy and chakra within the heir's body, granting better distribution within the use of jutsu and well as performance of them. (This does not allow the heir to use higher level jutsu or techniques. It simply allows them to perform their techniques a little better without wasting away their chakra. In short it is better chakra control.)

Third Test - Path of Ascension: Ascension is the third and final test that the heir will have to endure. This test is one that very few have been able to pass or even reach. This test occurs when the heir has reached all other exceptions that the eye requires, True Sight and Enlightenment. When this final test begins though the heir will be striped of almost all of their abilities.

When the Path of Ascension goes into effect, the heir will be placed in a very odd situation. First the Twilight Eye will separate and divide itself within the heir, first being mental, one side being all the heirs good nature and one being all of their evil or negative nature and intentions. Then the heir goes through a split of spirit and body, causing the two natures to take form into separate beings of actual existence, one containing all the views and intentions of the heir's good side and one the bad. These two will also have certain abilities and skills of the heir, as well as various skill attributes based on the strength of the heir. These two bodies will act completely on their own and seek out their own ideals and goals as they wish.

Now as this test is in effect the heir will be unable to use various abilities that they two separate bodies possess. Also the heir will no longer have the Twilight Eye, being that it goes with the two bodies, giving them the two separate sides of the eye. The Right eye of the two Twilight Eyes takes the place as "Yin" in a way, which is the side that views people and can feel the nature of them. (The left eye.) This body is the composed of all the negative properties of the heir. The other eye or "Yang" is the side that can not be blinded by the lies and illusions of man, meaning this body is unaffected by genjutsu and composes of the heir's good properties. (the right eye.) (The heir is the only one that can defeat/"kill" these two entities and keep them from running free.)

This being the case the user will be free of the eye's test in a way and be able to see the world through their own eyes for once, but they will be limited to what is left of themselves, being that two sides of the heir have been ripped from their body, mind, and soul to create the two separate bodies. So to gain those two pieces of themselves, the heir must track down and defeat the two sides of themselves and make them a part of them. When this happens they will gain back the abilities and properties they lost to create that body. Once the heir has completed this task and completely brought their other natures to together, they will achieve full "Ascension", granting them full control over the Twilight Eye until their death. The heir will be free of all the tests that the eye places on them and will find inner peace. Not only will the heir find peace within themselves, but the heir will also be able to see all the past memories of former heirs, opening unknown secrets, skills, and truths that past heirs have learned. (These skills are not instantly learned. They do need to be practiced but mastering them will be far easier.)

Description: Tasogare Ooi is a technique that combines Ninjutsu and Shadougunjin. This technique is the biggest and most difficult technique for members to learn. First the user will create a large area covered by shadows and then infuse their chakra into it, making it thick and heavy. The user will then move to the next step of the technique by use of the proper hand signs and a final manipulation of the shadows. Once this is done the shadow field will become extremely dark and heavy, making it impossible for any light or sound to pierce it or escape it. This makes it completely impossible to see within the field or see what is in it from outside the field. Due to the heavy feeling of the shadows within, those within the shadow field have difficulty concentrating and the lose of sight and sound causes almost complete disorientation. This also goes for the user within the shadow field, however those of the Kinkou clan as trained to fight in such environments,giving them an upper hand within the field. Also due to the shadows within the field, the user can use them to try and locate those within the field, granting them a little additional heads up.

[Certain Kekkei Genkais and how they work in the field change based on how the Kekkei genkai itself works. Examples like the Hyuuga clan and their Byakugan is a good example of explaining it. Due to the way the field is made, it is surrounded in a think veil of the users chakra. If a member of the Hyuuga clan tried to see through or within the field they would meet with the sight of the chakra veil, clouding their view within the field. This also applies to say the copying and movement prediction abilities of the Sharingan. Because of the blinding abilities of the shroud and the chakra veil that covers it, the Sharingan would be unable to copy a users movements or locate them via their chakra.

Other Kekkei Genkais however, like say an earth manipulation one, would be unaffected by the effects of the veil, though the user would still be blinded and unable to hear.]

Description: Kage Suteppu is a very basic and common technique of the Kinkou clan. This technique allows the user to move through a shadow and appear at the end of that shadow or of a connecting shadow. However the user must be within physical contact with the entry point of the shadow to perform tis technique. If used within Tasogare Ooi, the user can move anywhere within the field by using the shadows it is made of, making it easy for them to get around within it.

Description: Kumori Kaaku is a Ninjutsu technique that requires a lot of placement to be used effectively. First the user must be within physical contact with a shadow to feed their chakra into it. Then they can use that shadow, or other connecting shadows, to try to grab a hold of people and entangle them and keep them from moving. This is better to be used when the user has already used Tasogare Ooi, due to the fact that the entire field can be used to entangle with.

Description: Bikou Kengen is a ninjutsu technique that works much like the typical shadow clone technique. However this technique doesn't make a clone out of chakra or the elements. Instead a clone of this technique is formed directly of the users shadow and is connected to them constantly. This clone is unable to be destroyed like standard clones but it is unable to use techniques and can not detach from the user, though the length of the connecting shadow can stretch. The shadow itself will fight along with the user until the user is killed or the user's shadow is blanked out by an intense light, much like normal shadows are blanked out by light sources.

Description: Bikou Ryouiki is a technique that is the first step to learning Tasogare Ooi. This technique takes the users shadow and expands it with the use of other near by shadows. This makes a large shadow field, allowing the user to use their techniques on a larger scale.

Description: Mato no Kumori is a technique that is used by those of the title "Fist of Shadows". These members use tis technique as their main fighting tool when in hand to hand combat. This technique is simple and quick to use, requiring only a single hand sign before using to strike. The ability can be held for five blows before the user has to use the technique again. When the user strikes with this technique it leaves a black hand print on the opponent where they are struck. This blow can not be removed and only goes away when the technique goes off or is removed by the user.

Now the mark of the shadow does a few things. It's first purpose is to act as a target. As long as the mark exists on a person it will act as a almost beacon for the user to track with. Second it will give off a slight burning sensation while in close proximity of the user. Lastly is the activation of the mark. The mark can only be activated when they are hit in the same spot as the mark. When this is done the mark will be removed and enhance the blow with chakra that was used to create the mark. This chakra will act like small blades and will slightly cut into the skin, causing the marked one to bleed in the spot where the mark was placed. Multiple marks can be placed on the same spot if stuck there again before the first mark is activated. This way if the user manage to stack these marks and activate them all at the same time, the damage caused will be much greater based on the number of marks placed.
