"The Children of the Phoenix are born. Ho-Oo Emi and Ho-Oo Haruka"
Emi was born in the Bear Country as Elena Sigmund; an alias. It was family tradition ever since the birth of the clan to hide their names from the whole world, and have false names. It was foolish to even try to give out your name to strangers. Normally, before one of the Ho-Oo get married, their spouse must go through a ritual, to see if he or she can be accepted into the clan, and learn their spouses and families name. And if the clan would accept them. Emi was the first child of 'Izanami' and 'Katsuga' . Of course, Emi knew her parent's real names; everyone in the family did. Then, when the young Phoenix was four years old, she had a new sibling. Ho-Oo Haruka was her real name, but her alias was Ariana Sigmund; just like her sister's last name.
Both girls had the look of her mother from head to toe. Blonde hair that seems to glow in the sunlight and purple/blue eyes that would take men's breath away. The young girls knew everyone in the family. And they would surely remember Izanagi's brother, Ryuuk. The young girls didn't know much about him, but, from what the older girl, Emi knew is that he was very mad (thinking like a child here) at her mommy and daddy for marrying. This had her upset when she was at the age of knowing and comprehending stuff. Emi made sure Haruka- who was young at the time and cried very easily- didn't know what was going on and would distract her from any "talks" her mom and dad would have with their Grandfather, or their Uncle, Ryuuk. One time when Emi saw Ryuuk, she felt... intimidated, scared but didn't show it as she kept playing with her younger sister.
After spending the day outside, one day, out of the blue, their mother tells their husband that she wants to move away; far away from her brother. Both parents took Emi and Haruka to Amegakure no Sato. A new place, new faces and new lives, it was something that Emi did not expect. At all.
Amegakure wasn't a very easy place to live in. It was filled with a shady business, and foreigners weren't something that was so often seen nor welcomed around there. They did their best though, working with what they got, and brought up their daughters for 2 semi peaceful years. But then the disaster struck. One day upon coming home, Izanami couldn't find her husband anywhere.
"Honey, where are you?" Checking into the children's room, she pondered a bit to herself before checking into the kitchen. Where are the girls? She finally stopped searching, while placing her hands on her slender hips. She was sure Katsuga had said he would stay at home that day and greet her with the girls when she came back. "Maybe they went out to buy food." She couldn't help but have this slightly uncomfortable feeling at the back of her mind though, while walking in rather quick steps towards the bedroom.
On the middle of the twin sized bed was a small note, and from it came a fragrance which made her heart jump a bit from a familiar feeling of fright. No.. it can't be.. he couldn't have found us here.. She hurried towards the bed, grabbing the note and reading it with a small frown. And then, everything was in slow motion. She recognized that handwriting immediately, and while reading the instructions, Izanami basically could feel her heart slowing down from the dreadful fright. She had barely finished reading the last few words before she was running outside of the house, not even bothering to close the doors behind her. Her brother had indeed found her. And he had her husband, her children.. everything she loved. The instructions had been to meet him at the outskirts of the village, and that was where she was heading. Running so fast that she was surprised that her feet even touched the ground.
Please dear God. Please let them be alright. I beg of you. After 10 long minutes she finally reached the outskirts, her chest heaving up and down with each painful breath as she stared around. Trying to see anyone or anything.
"Dear sister. It's so good to see you again." Her mouth turned a bit dry as she turned, facing her younger brother who had the exact same looks as she did. The same golden colored hair, fair features and blue eyes.
"R-Ryuuk. What are you doing? Where is my family?" With a rather bored expression, the young male waved at a nearby bush. Swallowing hard, Izanami walked over there, turned and looked behind the bush. What met her eyes made her feel a bit dizzy. Her husband lay lifeless on the ground, a pool of blood under him. Her two girls sat huddled together, bound on arms and legs. Both were smeered in their father's blood. Tears threatened to gather in Izanami's eyes but she refused to show weakness, refused to let her children become more scared.
Elena had a scared look in her eyes, but also a look of hatred which was directed towards Ryuuk. The girl was already 7 years old so she was very well aware of her surroundings. The younger one however, Ariana, had tears streaming from her eyes whom seemed to be a bit... lifeless. She just stared ahead of herself, her eyes not really focused on anything as occasional sobbing shook her small body a bit.
"Ryuuk, how dare you do this? What is your purpose? Does father know about this?" The young male threw his head back while laughing out, seemingly finding her words very amusing. It wasn't until then which Izanami noticed the gun in his hand.
"Well, I just came here to visit and play a bit around with your brats. But then your brutish husband just had to get in the way, and boom.. a shot flew from the gun." The smile which followed after that statement showed that he was clearly far away from being sane.
"As for our family. Well, let's just say that some bounty hunters got nice tips and took care of that nonsense.""W-what? Mom? Dad? Everybody.. dead? HOW COULD YOU RYUUK?? ARE YOU COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR MIND??" Izanami trembled from built up anger as she shouted out, the tears finally spilling down from her eyes.
"Careful now. Wouldn't want anything to happen to those brats." She growled softly, clencing her fists to hold back.
"Alright. Just let them go. These children have nothing to do with you." "Hah! Are you kidding me? This disgusting clan of ours should just vanish! I don't care if it's children or not, they should all .. just DIE!" The finger on the trigger squeezed at it, the gun was pointed towards Elena. Ariana who didn't understand anything which was going on, had started crying more fiercely after seeing her mother. Calling out to her while feeling scared of the stench of the blood.
There wasn't anything but that, the image of that gun pointed towards her older daughter, the sound of her younger daughter's voice, which came into Izanami's head as she jumped forwards. In the line of fire. Her slender body flew through the air as the echo of the gunshot made the girls scream out in fright. It was as if her body got nudged a bit in the air before she fell down to the ground. Her chest was bleeding, while her eyes were half closed.
Don't .. let him.. get .. my babies.. Her vision started to get a bit blurry, but for some reason, she felt like she saw someone come walking behind Ryuuk. For a second things went black, but as her eyes opened again, she was looking up into her father's dark blue eyes whom had black circles under them.
"You.... look... tired... father." The old man wasn't ashamed to feel a few tears run down his cheeks. In his hand was the sword he had inherited from his father. The same sword he had just used to cut down his own son.
"Rest daughter. I will take care of your girls. Just sleep peacefully." A faint smile crossed his daughter's bloody lips before she closed her eyes slowly. After the old man was done burying the corpses, he took his grandchildren with him to a new place. In his childhood he had known a great man who lived in a village called Konoha. And they were heading there.
||Starting out and Genin||
When they entered the village the old man, who went by the name Hachi in this place, requested an audition with the Hokage. That was granted, and after a long talk along with reassurance about his origin and powers, he was allowed to start living in the village with the girls. It didn't seem that Ariana or Elena remembered much, perhaps they had locked it all in. But he worried more about the older girl who had clearly understood more about what had happened. From the first day they entered the village, he started training them both. Of course with the age difference in mind. He made Ariana do simple things to see if she had indeed also inherited the clan's powers, while showing and teaching Elena how to better control them.
Elena was also enrolled into the academy while Ariana stayed at home with her grandfather. The other children were curious about the girls, especially since they had a bit of a foreign look to them. Ariana was quick to adjust and made many friends, while using her big purple eyes and innocent smile to win the hearts of the grownups. Hachi gave her the same training as her sister, and was pleased to see that both the girls seemed very talented. Seemingly having inherited both their father's strong will and their mother's natural talents.
Then, Elena was old enough to join the Academy while Arianna stayed at home with their grandfather. As a child, Elena was a quiet child in the Academy while growing up. She had friends, but sometimes talked, only a little and had straight A's. The young girl never skipped classes but sometimes fell asleep because of any nightmares she would have of her mother dying in front of her, but she would be strong in front of her younger sister, who looked up to her almost all the time.
The only friend that she considered was her sister, Arianna. Those two were ALWAYS with each other (with the exception of when Elena has to go to the Academy) and when Elena would come home... she would be glomped.
Hard by her little sister. Back in the academy, Elena continued on being quiet; some students suspected that she was a "teacher's pet" and tried bullying her. Having a temper at a young age does wonders to Elena. She taught them their place, even if they all got in trouble. Luckily, she didn't get detention, but the people who bothered her that day did.
The young
Sigmund as she was known graduated at the top of her class with a very good good usage of Taijutsu, her chakra and weaponry.
Elena lovvves weapons. After that, she was quickly put in a team. She got along with them easily, and made sure that there was no fighting between them. After all, they had to work as a team in order to get higher in life. And Elena wanted to reach her goal: To become a Jounin of Konoha. She got adjusted to the small mission that their sensei had them do. Of course, for the other two teammates, it was annoying to have such small and 'idiotic' missions in their point of view. They all learned on their own on how to become the best team that they can be. And with that, they headed off to challenge the Chuunin exams some time later.
||Genin to Chuunin||
Like any other normal team, Elena's team had to go through the Chuunin exams. That was going to challenge all of them completely. Her other two teammates, which were known as Ryuu and Kazuki. Ryuu had silver hair with black highlights, or it appeared to be highlights. Ryuu said that they weren't and that he was born with them. He had scarlet eyes that seem to glint whenever he was thinking something mischievous. He was around 5'7" while Kazuki had black jet hair, onyx colored eyes and was 5'8".
A team had got them, and was about to take their scroll. Both of her male teammates were down on the ground, being held by the enemies two teammates and the last one was advancing at Elena. It was an all male group, and the last male looked like he wanted to have some fun with the young Gennin, plus, she also had the scroll.
"Any last words, lovely before we take your scroll?" Elena said nothing, but closed her eyes and concentrated on one of the fire jutsus her grandfather taught her.* She only heard screams from the other teammates that weren't from Ryuu nor Kazuki. When she opened her eyes, violet was caught with burning red.
'Red...?' "ELENA!" It was all a blur. The blond Gennin felt someone picking her up and as if slow motion leaving the now burning spot of the teammates. What she didn't know is that they almost burned down a part of the forest of Death. At least it wasn't burn down completely.
Their team had made it to the next part of the Chuunin exams, and most of the Gennin passed.
Most. Elena was one of them, she was going to be Chuunin now, and still had questions about her powers, but soon learned in time to control them.
||Chuunin to Jounin||
The life of a Chuunin was not easy, and Elena just knew it once she started doing Chuunin missions. They were annoying, to her anyway. She just couldn't stand taking care of important children or 'snobby' females. But the other two didn't mind when it was to the snobby female... and she kicked them, repeatedly.
'Males.' That would be her usual thought on her team mates. Besides that, her Chuunin years were filled with a lot of bickering from the three team mates and their sensei calming them down. Then, after, without a fault she would train with her grandfather with any Ho-Oo techniques and then, after her sensei and her team saw that they were ready, they took up the Jounin exams. She also started to have a liking towards weapons; all of them. Although, she had a preference to anything "spiky" or "can cut easily."
||Jounin till now||
Elena and her team mates took the Jounin exam and both of her team mates failed while Elena passed. That shocked her, and also irked her team mates. Then, all three had a fight-- mainly Ryuu and and Kazuki against her-- as to why she passed. She clearly told them "maybe you weren't good enough." Sure, it sounded harsh but it had to be the truth. But, they are still friends even if they bicker once in awhile. While reaching the age of 20, both Ho-Oo sisters had a nasty blow done to them: their grandfather had died. Elena was distraught but never showed it while Ariana tried to be strong for both, and from there on they took care of each other and Elena took over when their grandfather died.
Now, at the age of 24 Elena is still trying to get stronger for her sister and her village, and the Hokage. The recent one also knows about them and he's rather young. The blond hair Phoenix is grateful for him keeping their secrets for so long, and for years to come she will protect this village and her sister; both protecting it together.
