| Konohagakure no Sato Shinobi|Basics| Name: Hatake Gaeul Age: 12 Gender: Male
|Appearance| Height: 167.64 cm | 5'6" Weight: 40.8 kg | 90 lbs Eye Color: Light Brown Hair Color & Style: Silver-White | Gravity-defying
Gaeul has the atypical Hatake hair—being that it is a silver-white color and usually a sort of pillow-head-gravity-defying style. Unlike most Hatakes who seem to have a darker silver-white color, he has an amazingly clean color that’s practically as pure as snow is. And, most of the time he simply leaves his hair as it is when he wakes up, or runs a comb through his hair, not really caring where his hair settles. The uncaring attitude towards his general appearance seems to work well with Gaeul, seemingly looking good, decent at the least, in whatever he has on. General Appearance:
Gaeul can usually be seen in some rather formal wear during his off time. Dress pants and dress shirts are a staple in his closet, alongside of vests, but not jackets. He feels that jackets are unnecessary, extra weight that serves no real purpose. Masks also make up a large portion of his outfits, but his tendency to wear them varies, though most of the time he is in a mask, even in formal wear. Gaeul has a wide array of colors to choose from as well. Rarely is he seen in casual clothes.

Find out who his mother is, or was. Live up the Hatake family name. Learn his ancestor’s renown technique: Raikiri. Overall:
Gaeul is an honest child, who, although being from a prominent clan, has not quite yet met the hardships of battle himself. He is skilled, yes, but he has yet to implement anything in the real heat of battle, thus he still retains a child-like innocence. This gentle nature of his makes people both adore him and worry for him. Still, he shows promise and doesn’t let rumors get to him. Rather, he takes the negativity thrown towards him to fuel his reason of being a ninja and need to train.
Despite his general outlook and calm aura, deep, deep down he is uneasy with his private life. His father, being an elite ninja himself, is rarely home. He sees little of his father and remembers even less memories of his father. Of his mother, he has no idea who she is. The only clue he has is the hyouton element he wields, meaning that his mother is of the Yuki Clan of Kirigakure. But asides from that he knows no more, not even a picture or the name of his mother.
|Background| Birthplace: Hi no Kuni | Land of Fire
Gaeul was born on the eastern coastal shores of the Land of Fire to Hatake Satoshi and Yuki Athar. His birth was unplanned for, as such, Athar soon left after his birth and left the naming and raising of Gaeul to Satoshi alone. This is perhaps why he sees so little of his father. Current Residence: Konohagakure no Sato | Hidden Leaf Village
Living in the more prosperous sector of Konoha amongst other small ninja families dotted along apartment complexes resides Satoshi and Gaeul. However, as Satoshi is rarely home, Gaeul often has the whole apartment to himself. His father owns few of the items in the apartment himself. The vast majority of the furniture, cooking ware, food, and clothes all belong to Gaeul or bought by Gaeul after receiving money from his father. Sometimes Gaeul wonders if his father actually lives elsewhere and pays for the necessities of life, not even considering him as his son. Clan: Hatake | Yuki Family: Hatake Satoshi | Father History:
Snow Buries Leaves Hatake Satoshi, being among some of the lesser elites of the village was often sent out on missions that needed skilled ninja largely due to the fact that ninja were disappearing and villages were being destroyed. Konoha, although they wanted to send the most elite of their ninja out, needed these ninja to stay at home in case Konoha should meet the same fate as the others. As such, it feel on the less skilled and less elite of the ninja force to carry out the missions that supported the sake of ninja existing in Hi no Kuni.
It was upon one of these ventures that he ran across an enemy kunoichi from Kirigakure. The two had had a long, drawn out battle that resulted in a draw whereon the kunoichi admitted she was fleeing Kirigakure and that this was the last mission she was going on. Her name was Athar, and through his fight with her, he learned that Athar was from the Yuki Clan. He chose to spare her life then, for his mission had not called for her death. His mission had been simple surveillance… in enemy territory. He had already fulfilled the mission details, and so he saw to it that the woman left Mizu no Kuni as she said she would.
Through their journey across the sea, at a much slower rate than normal due to the rising fear of what lay outside of domesticated areas and a lack of men willing to brave the high seas, he came to bed her. It was purely pleasure. There were no feelings asides from lust and desire attached, no promises, nothing. Just a way to pass time, if one could call it that. And so it came that they landed in neutral land between the Cloud and the Leaf.
The two ninja had soon become aware that they’d spawned a new life and thus their travels were slow as the debated upon what to do. Though neither truly wanted the child or had the resources to care for it, they both agreed that neither had the heart to destroy something they had created, despite their battle-hardened ninja backgrounds. At long last, the fateful day came and Athar gave birth to a white-haired, baby boy when they were along the eastern shoreline of Hi no Kuni.
She left in the morning without so much as a trace, leaving Satoshi to wake up to the sounds of a crying baby. Satoshi would then return to the village fairly quickly where word soon got out that he was a father. Gaeul was a bastard of a child, and it did not help that Satoshi did not seem to care for his son. Though a father now, Satoshi still undertook missions, difficult and dangerous ones, thus leaving the raising of Gaeul to his friends and relatives. The Leaf’s Seed Nurtured By the Snow Gaeul’s life was a haphazard one, always changing hands, but it did not mean he was not loved. Quite the opposite. Satoshi’s friends pitied the boy, and took it upon themselves to try to make his life less troublesome than it already was. From them he learned how to thrive in society and brush away the negativity thrown towards him. His relatives on the other hand did not spoil him or pity him. They were ninjas, one and all, and knew that with the life of a ninja came many opportunities and chances. They were living tools, nothing more. From them he learned how to be a ninja from a young age. As a result of this, he managed to live a balanced life, haphazard as it was.
Before long, he could become of age to enter the Academy and do so. He was neither the top of the class or the worse of the class, nor was he in the middle of it all. Gaeul made friends well enough, but never any bonds that would last for long. Despite his friendly demeanor and charm, he still felt distanced from everyone else and this feeling of loneliness was evident to them as well. Still, he was among the top ten or so of his class and by the time he graduated, it was evident he had a higher mastery of chakra, being able to draw out his element: hyouton.
There would be much talk of this, but it would not be overly strange. Everyone had more or less known by now that Satoshi had been deployed into the Land of Water, as such, this detail only cleared up the unknown a little. At the time, Gaeul did not quite understand why this was such a big deal. Yes, he knew hyouton was not one of the main elements, but he had supposed that it was a part of the Hatake Clan’s odd white chakra appearance. Their white chakra held no special properties, only in appearance, and only in the usage of special tantos forged by the Hatake. He had merely thought his chakra content was ‘purer’, in being that he constantly emitted white chakra when it came to a physical, visible view of his chakra.
He graduated among the top three of his class at a young age, but due to the present circumstances, few Genin teams were actually being employed. As such, he was placed on a team under a Jounin leader and learned the basics of teamwork and refined his current skills, but would not go on very many missions outside of the village. His Jounin sensei in particular was one of the new wave of ninja who believed some great evil was truly upon them and would not let the team accept any missions outside of the village or further than a day’s travel.
He also kept their teamwork to a minimum, sticking to the mindset that the worse would come one day and that they’d stuck to fend for themselves. He worked with each member of the team individually. As such, the only real teamwork the team actually did was if they themselves elected to do it themselves. Gaeul often tried to unite his teammates together, understanding the importance of teamwork and his own desire to find a place he could belong in and be worth something to someone—love. But, his teammates often declined.
They were all young, his team, sure they were a few years older than him, but all the same, they were young. And like many other young children, they were more interested in the perks of being a ninja—fame, fortune, and power—than the true meaning of being a ninja. Thus, Gaeul was forced to be on his own even further. Their private training sessions were advantageous in that each was powerful on their own and well balanced with their own strengths and specialties, but disadvantageous as they had very little teamwork skills and were not challenged mentally, only physically. From Seed to Sapling After several years of working on his own and honing his skills, Gaeul applied for a meeting with the Hokage. Normally, Genin were overlooked, but seeing as he had presented his case well enough, he had been permitted with an audience with the Hokage. After a brief visitation and talk, he was released from his team, as were his teammates. Their sensei was of no use to them as the atypical Jounin sensei who would nurture his Genin both mentally and physically into strong ninja. The village was already pressed to meet all the needs of being a ninja village and it was better to put their sensei to some use than to leave him doing a poor job he was failing at.
A relative calm and peace was settling over the world. Though the villages had been attacked and more or less destroyed without much of a clue, there had been no more attacks. There were still the odd disappearances, but nothing major. With this in mind, Gaeul reapplied for a Genin team in hopes of ‘finishing his training’ as a ‘rookie’.
Patiently, he waits for the day he’ll receive news that he’s been established into a Genin Team… and that his father will claim him as his own. Until then, he trains and hones his skills in the training grounds and the libraries. Satoshi sends him money monthly to pay for the bills, food, clothes, and whatever else he deemed necessary. His life is rather ordinary and mundane, as he’s unable to carry out many missions on his own considering he is team-less, knows few other Genin, and has a less than impressive ninja history thus far compared to other Genin of his skill level.

| Done.
Though just a note: It's not explicitly stated anywhere that you have to have an Average Genin to start with. It merely says 'Genin', which means it can be either Average or Advanced, and even then it's just an advisory. You all may want to edit that in. That, and there's no point in having starting DPs for Advanced Genin to begin with.
Just saying is all. It would clear up some confusion/misconception to new players. |
