Black Star has bright blue spiky hair, with the spikes sticking out in such a fashion that it closely mimics a star-like shape. Although he's pretty short for someone of his age he has a well-muscled build due to constant vigorous training. He regards his green eyes are pretty ordinary except for his pupils when change shape slightly (to that of a star) if he should become enraged to the point of going insane, a trait that is actually fairly common in previous members of his clan.

On his right shoulder is the reasonably well known mark of his clan, a star-shaped tattoo. Its a shade lighter than his normal skin tone, making it easily visible especially with the dark edging acting as a the outline of the shape. This tattoo truly is the sign of his clan and is usually placed upon members at a young age.

He can most commonly be seen wearing similar styled clothes, to the point where he seems to be wearing the same outfit on a regular basis, Something that he quickly claims is due to liking that look. His main outfit consists of a black sleeveless shirt that has a funnel-like collar (similar to that of a mixture of those dog cone things [but not being as tall, obviously] and a high collared Akatsuki cloak), with white trousers that are black from the knee downwards and are just a little short of being full length jeans. (Don't get me wrong, they aren't short enough to look like they don't fit him, they're just over the length of 3/4s). At the front of of the collar, there are two short strips of a similar grey material to his shirt that are adorned with rivets that stretch down from the mouth of the collar to the mid-breast of his shirt. These strips are apart of his apparel and show up quite a lot. He has similar strips wrapped around his neck in the fashion of a scarf, further hinting to a ninja-like heritage. The same styled strips can also be seen wrapped around his waist in the form of a belt.

Similar rivets accent the openings on his pockets and at the end of his trousers. On his hands, he wears grey fingerless gloves with compartments for wrist weights they also have a metal band stretching across the back of each hand adorned with a star, they are deemed to enhance his strikes by giving him more of an edge with a similar way to a knuckle duster whilst protecting his hands/fists/knuckles. The bands have been shown to be strong enough to withstand blows from bladed weaponry. They could be used to deflect projectiles provided that Black Star is quick enough and smart enough to get into the correct position before attempting to do so this however, isn't currently the case. Black Star uses brute strength to block bladed weaponry, using the gloves to protect himself from the strikes of a sword. Again this is provided that he is fast enough to get into the correct position to block the attack and provided that his opponent isn't that much stronger than him. The ends of the fingers have a silver-lined finish to them.

As for his footwear, Black Star wears basic black boots that have a metal plate coating over the tips (think of like steel toed/capped boots) that are adorned by a star right on the end of each boot. The metal again, is to slightly enhance his kicking ability and give him more of an edge over his opponents. This however doesn't come without a price, as its metal it comes with a little added extra weight; not enough to him as he's been used to it due to constant training.

When you're first getting to know Black Star, he can seem rather arrogant, loud and immature (something that may or may not be excusable at his age). Although he was brought up to fight as a skilful assassin, he prefers to totally throw out the 'way of assassination' by shouting and making his presence known due to the fact that he's a massive attention-seeker. Not being able to stand other people getting more attention than himself, Black Star will always proceed to beat down any more more popular than him in a 1-on-1 fight in order to become popular again, as you can probably guess, this lands him quite a lot of trouble on a regular basis. This behaviour even extends to more serious situations such as on stealth missions, he has a tendency to often shout at his opponent especially when first engaging them in conversation; Usually opening with his trademark cries of "Yahoo!". Something that some of his opponents seem to define him by, often going as far to underestimate him.

His arrogance stems from the fact that he seems to exhibit a superiority complex similar to that of other more famous shinobi, such as Sasuke Uchiha. His delusion of 'starness' is so great that he constantly gives out autographs that nobody wants. His catchphrase is 'I will be the man who will surpass God,' which he is actually trying to do. Because of this, he shows tacit jealousy towards people that are naturally gifted in terms of having power or obtaining it with little to no effort. He constantly refers to himself as 'BIG' and the other people around him as 'small.' His arrogance later develops into a constant hunger for power, up until the point that people suspect that he may choose a darker path but he never seems to give in. His arrogance can also hinder him as he is short-tempered and uncooperative when it comes to team battles, as he always tries to take the lead when the most important thing is to cooperate with each other. He accuses the people around him for being sloppy instead of admitting that he is the one getting frustrated. His confidence stems from him being used to winning all the time, so consequently, losing prominent battles causes a great negative change in him, usually going into a brief (depending on the number of battles) period of depression and a temporary lower self-confidence.

His hubris does not allow him to take any insults on his abilities, often taking such comments to heart and/or attempts to prove himself to that person. Black Star can be really unobservant, and has a short attention-span, often forgetting things such as appointments, meetings and etc. He hates being told what to do and thus mostly disobeys rules when he sees fit, often skipping classes and arriving late because of picking fights with people. He thoroughly enjoys fighting as he sees it as a chance of proving to everyone that he is the best. Another thing is that he is incredibly tactless, and can sometimes be seen as disrespectful, even insulting to his friends and even his superiors without realising of course. He often has an informal way of speech and behaviour, even towards people of a higher rank than him. He loves playing practical jokes and winding people up for the fun of it. Black Star is also a big glutton, having a massive appetite which usually is quite a surprise to those around him due to his small size. He seems to like Manga, and can be seen reading when not training and left to his own devices.

All of his methods of going about solving anything are generally headstrong and dependent on physical strength. From time to time, he will abandon team mates if they tells him to hold back or run away, which usually ends with him getting himself in an even worse situation usually needing help from others. This might come from people mostly seeing him as a member of the Star Clan and judging him for their actions rather than his own. However, he does not hold grudges against the village council, that had helped kill the members of the Star Clan, saying that his father and mother had been put to justice for their crimes, which shows a surprisingly mature side to Black Star's personality. He does not like to dwell on the past, and is quick to forgive people. He tries to forget his heritage, but deep down, he is shown to be insecure about it often avoiding the question if others pry.

Despite his rather large ego, there are more positive sides to his personality. Although it is hard to tell through his arrogance, he does genuinely care for his friends. He always arrives to his friends' aid if they are in danger, seeing himself as a protector of the people whom he classes as weaker than himself. It is shown in team battles, that he views the safety of his friends as a priority. However, he will also take his friends' wishes into account, and will step back and allow them to fight alone if they want to. Maybe one of Black Star's more famous qualities is his fierce determination that knows no bounds. He constantly trains to become stronger, and is dedicated on his goals, putting all of his effort in everything he does (this has its downsides, especially when Black Star develops tunnel-vision on pursuing something that is wrong, being too stubborn to see the wrongness of his aims). He prefers to go his own way, which sometimes involves going against orders. However, despite his determination, he always fails at tests regardless of the effort he spends in studying. He never forgives the people who hurts his friends, setting off immediately to get revenge in order to defend or restore respect to his friends.

He also has a very positive and upbeat temperament often laughing and smiling even in the glummest of situations. Black Star's cheerful demeanour can sometimes act as a support to others when they are down. He is also very honourable, not wanting to take any credit that he does not deserve. He also keeps on ploughing forward through adversity, whilst others may decide to run away, showing his bravery, although his bravery may sometimes border on recklessness again often getting him into trouble

Chakra Control: These users have excellent Chakra control, which means they waste little Chakra in battle. People with excellent Chakra control usually have average or below average Chakra. Since the amount of Chakra is smaller, it is easier to master control over it. People with this skill are like, Itachi, Kakakshi and Orochimaru.

Basic Control: You have a understanding about the amount of Chakra you put out but being a beginner, you have basic knowledge on the matter at hand. You're able a put forth little effort with basic techniques and a few C rank techniques.

Tracking/Senses: This skill gives the user a good ability with his senses, being able to track opponents from a distance without them knowing, no matter the ranking the person is most of the time. They have high senses and are able to effectively use their abilities to keep their senses tuned on an opponent. These are your stealth-type characters. The prerequisites for the senses skill is Chakra Control. If you can just track and are not in tune with your senses then there is no prerequisite.

1. A beginning tracker/sensor: Your deduction skills on following opponents are beginning. Being able to see footprints, see some grass being moved and branches being broken are the obvious signs but you'll be able to cover it faster than most. You can hear things a bit sharply, your eyes are a bit keen and you are aware most of the time.

-Tank
1. The Wall. Never really the one who will dodge away from an attack because really dodging isn't really a think you specifically like to do. Starting out at the basic wall, you have some vitality on you so that you dont' have faint away when you are getting punch and kicked. You can't take on too much damage. you're still human. You're still learning to take more damage. you get +2 stamina

2. The Juggernaut. (Insert Joke Here). Your vitality have greatly improved Not bad, you can take much more damage. It takes a good amount of time for you to be taken down without you feeling the innate pain that will reach to your nerves and to your body itself. Because you understand pain, you're able to determine what will cause your opponent to fall. You have some knowledge on what force that'll send a person hurling over. +3 Stamina, +2 Strength

3. The Unmovable Force. Through sheer willpower and adaptation rate, you are able to take on a surprising amount of damage without you falling over. Your body alone is able to take on damage from some chakra enhanced strength but of course by now, you have an understanding that taking on more will definitely get you far worse than hurt. You understand pain entirely as if it was a friend of yours that you can rely on. You and pain have a contract and you are able to deliver a great amount of pain towards your enemies. You can take alot of damage. +4 Stamina, +3 in Strength

-Skilled Learner
1. The Practicioner: a student who has determination. You are starting into the world of the shinobi and seeing that the one way to get stronger is by practice, you put that into your mental philosophy and decide that it's time for you start up on some things. Your practices are a bit infrequent, your muscles need time to rest because you're just learning

2. The Undeterred: You have practiced so much you have developed a routine. This routine allows you to adapt with your muscles, so you're less fatigue than with most. Your chakra is starting to become balance and because of that, you have 25% less word req when training jutsu

3. The Formidable:You have practiced so freaking much its not funny. You have complete understanding of how to not overcompensate with how much your body does and when it gets sore, you're able to recover a bit faster. Your chakra is also very controlled as well and with that 50% word count decrease for training.

Black☆Star is supposedly the sole survivor of his clan, known as the clan of the star or the star clan. They were an pretty infamous family (a rather small one compared to some of the clans out there) of professional ninjas that were supposedly descendants from a long line of assassins, trained from birth in the arts of combat and death. As there numbers slowly began to go so did their reputation: one of which they would do anything for money, especially the leader of the clan and Black☆Star's father, White☆Star. This reputation was stereotyped onto the newly born Black☆Star despite his cheerful demeanour and mainly positive outlook.

The star clan obviously made a lot of enemies during their active years as they took on contacts from anyone that was willing to pay. It seems like all of the clans members have an inborn desire or rather an obsession with power. With previous members, this was too the extent that they took advantage of their stealthy ways (the way of assassination) to take on any work regardless of its nature from attacks and assassinations to stealing documents and acting as couriers.

Shortly after the clan symbol was applied to Black☆Star's right arm, in a disclosed location a meeting of the kages took place where they came to the unanimous decision that it was in every ones best interest that the star clan was eliminated. Black☆Star was left unharmed due to his age.

Black☆Star was soon adopted by a couple that couldn't have children. They knew about the history of his family but disregarded it as a factor as they believed that it wasn't something that was a part of him, but something installed later on in life. Meaning that they could actually do something about it and bring him up the right way.

In his early years, his new parents allowed him to have access to his clan's library as they didn't want him to feel like they were limiting him or preventing him from learning the truth. He was allowed to visit the library once a week as long as he went with an adult; Due to his young age. Wanting to do the best for him, his adoptive father began studying the books in hopes that he could better understand his sons history. He planned to pass this knowledge on to black star when he was old enough. There was one hitch in the plan though, the clan was very secretive and you can only enter the library by knowing the 'password' that was only known by members of the actual clan.

Spending the last few months researching the clan, his adoptive father was running out of options. He'd tried pretty much everything and anything that he could think of. There was only one other option, consulting the Hokage in hopes that his wisdom could shed some light on the issue. After a few hours of compiling what they already knew with an old map that supposedly shows the location of one of star clan hideouts the only thing that they managed to come up with was a clue to gaining entrance. 'We hide in plain sight, The star is the key, For its light shines so bright'.

Again after much speculation they discovered the 'star' that was mentioned has more significance than they thought. It was actually the 'star' that was located on the clan member that was the key to entering the hideout. Whether anything else was needed to gain entry was unknown but they were intrigued. They had to find out the methods behind such a successful clan, after all with that knowledge, one could produce even better assassins furthering strengthening ANBU black ops members.

The following day they picked up Black Star from the academy and following the map they set off in the direction of the clan hideout. It was a pretty long and treacherous journey, causing Black Star to irritate them with the typical questions that indicate impatience such as the classic "Are we there yet?". They found the hideout in a disclosed location that teetered on the border of Konohagakure and some other village. This was it. The moment of truth. Make or break. They took the boy towards the side of a mountain. It was composed entirely of brown rocks with the oddly placed boulders with patches of grass defiantly attempting to grow on them.

As they approached an oversized boulder that even the great Sakura Haruno or Lady Tsunade wouldn't have been able to break, a voice whispered from out of nowhere. It seemed like only black star could understood what it was saying either through some strange link to his heritage or just because of his age or something. There was no mistake that it was a whisper but it was still loud enough to be in close proximity. Not being able to see something but feeling like it was whispering in your ear was something that the young boy had never experienced before, it was truly frightening.

2) Become one with your target: Predict his thoughts and movements.
3) Strike your target before he notices you.
These are the favoured methods of the star clan.
These are your heritage.

Fearing the voice, Black Star ran towards his dad and gripped his leg tightly. Even though he sensed the boys intense hear, he displayed no signs of apathy. Turning around slightly and kneeling to get into the boy's line of sight, he stared into his green eyes donning a serious expression. Black star understood what the look meant, it confirmed what the mysterious voice had said. This was his heritage. He had to go in there even if it meant that it had to be alone.

He entered a child but he emerged a man, well in the eyes of the clan ancestors. Black star was blessed with the memory flashes that were like recordings of the clans teachings. Inside the hideout he'd been taught how to separate the memory flashes from his own existence, control his breathing through meditation exercises, and he was taught how to project memories into the minds of others. Some of the memory flashes consisted of practical lessons whereas some where lectures of the clans methods and teachings. It seemed like this was the primary method of passing on the knowledge down the generations of the clan, the absence of any books and transcripts confirmed the idea.

Black Star now felt like he was more mature at least from his point of view. One theory is that whatever happened in the memory flashes that he was exposed to was too much for his child mind to handle, so in order to cope with it he had to mature a little faster than usual. He was becoming more desensitized to scenes of extreme violence and intense feelings.

Walking alongside his adoptive father, he whispered to him urging him to allow him to go home. After all they'd all overstayed their welcome. There was nothing else to say. What needed to be said, had been. It was for him to hear and him alone. He was Black Star and his is a star!

Throughout the following years, Black Star closely followed the teachings of the star clan absorbing everything he can from the memory flashes he was gifted with. He'd train at the hideout, in private, somewhere where no-one would interrupt where they couldn't take advantage of the hidden knowledge. As he was only allowed to go to the hideout with an adult, he was randomly assigned Chuunin shinobi to watch over him and to deliver him to and from the hideout.

When he wasn't at the hideout, He was doing intense workouts in order to condition his body. He had to be a star. He had to outshine everyone else at the academy. Whether it was apart of his natural abilities or something that he had picked up along the way Black Star was soon the top of his classes in everything however when it came to sitting doing tests, he'd always flunk. No matter how much he studied for the up and coming exams he would still fail. Again. And again. And again.

Eventually they let him pass due to his practical skills. When he was tested without him knowing, it was proven that his knowledge wasn't limited as much as everyone thought. His intelligence was actually on par with his practical abilities, he just had problems applying that knowledge when it came to putting pen to paper.

After a few more lessons the time to assign people to teams had come swiftly and without justice. Black Star was to be placed into a group that were on the same level as he was. People at a similar skill level, of similar intelligence. Well he wasn't going to be placed into a weak team right? He didn't want to have his potential limited by others that aren't as big stars as he was. Confident in his abilities he was, but he wasn't going to be picking up people's slack. Hopefully everyone else saw his potential. They'd put him in a balanced team right? Well only time will tell...
